2011 Macbook Pro Bootcamped with Windows 7, Strange Brightness Issue

So, just a few months ago my brightness stopped changing altogether. My video card drivers are up to date but the problem persists. When using the brightness keys on my laptop, the brightness box shows up just like it should (the one that looks like the mac one, from bootcamp) and the slider moves left and right, but the brightness itself does not actually change. In addition, the brightness slider can be seen going one tick past where it should stop, still nothing happening.
Going in on the control panel (power settings and others) and using that brightness slider has no effect either. I recently updated to Service Pack 1 and that did not solve it either. Windows 7 and my video card drivers are both up to date.
Any ideas guys? My screen is stuck on full brightness and it hurts my eyes...
I'm guessing this only happens in Bootcamp Windows 7 (not in OSX?). Seems to be quite a common problem. Are you running 64 bit Windows? Apparently someone tried installing 32 bit and it worked. There are some work arounds like changing the gamma, but I guess that isn't the best solution
You need to confirm whether this happens just in Win7 or also OSX.

Same problem here on MacBook 2010 Unibody.
