• Quite urgent problem. No monitor signal after installing new HDD

So I'm currently having a friend over to switch out the main HDD for a brand new one, and everything worked normal with the old HDD plugged in when I backed up the files she wanted to keep after formatting. However when I unplugged the old HDD and put the new one in, the monitor suddenly gets no signal. Neither from HDMI or VGA with DVI adapter. I tried plugging out the new HDD and plug the old one back in, but still no signal. I have reseated the RAM, GPU, tried the other PCI-E slot, and another GPU I had lying around but still no signal. So.. help? I gotta drive her back home, hopefully with her computer in two hours tops.
So... to add to this: I ended up driving her home without her computer which kinda sucks so we'll go at it again tomorrow after I'm done at work. I took out my own GPU and tested that in her computer but with no other result. Even in both PCI-E slots. I tried disconnecting every single wire and holding the power button for a minute several times but that didn't do anything either. I tried the integrated GPU in the motherboard and that didn't give any signal either. Luckily I found out that I had a socket am3 motherboard lying around which I'm gonna test tomorrow. Pretty much my only conclusion right now is that the motherboard took a shit when I changed the HDDs over. It's really weird and really sudden, but could that be the case? Either way I'm gonna find out tomorrow with this MB I've got lying around.
MB I had lying around seems to be working fine... so I guess her MB took a shit yesterday.
