• I think I have a virus, what do I do?

I'm currently running a scan with Avast! and Mcafee. So far it's tried to run a 16bit application twice and opened my CD drive. I think I've found the source, a .exe on my desktop, but it won't let me delete it. It is also doing fake bluescreens.

The fun thing is it's a bad virus, the bluescreen color was off and I could alt-tab out of it. Running Spybot S&D Scan too, now. [editline]19th March 2011[/editline] Also, should I reboot my computer? because I haven't rebooted since i downloaded the .exe that gave me the virus.
Where do you think you got it from?
Where do you think you got it from?
A .exe I downloaded recently and put on my desktop. It won't let me delete it, even though I have administrator access. [editline]20th March 2011[/editline] Ahaha, oh wow, I just checked task manager and I found out you could MANUALLY EXIT THE VIRUS. I ended it and was able to delete the file I got it from. Still running the scan.
Where did you get the .exe from Like, be specific
A mediafire link. I'm an idiot. [sp]..."Porngrabber v1"[/sp]
A mediafire link. I'm an idiot. [sp]..."Porngrabber v1"[/sp]
I guess you're using both avast! and McAffee at the same time, I recommend keeping only 1 AV running at once. Remove the useless shit (a.k.a McAffee) and keep on using avast!.
Scan with Malwarebytes just to be sure it's gone.
