Because I'm stealing all of Akayz's threads. [img_thumb]http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/58699695/Symphonic+Suite+AKIRA+geinou+yamashirogumi++symphoni.jpg[/img_thumb] One of the most original soundtrack's I've ever heard. It tries something different and really succeeds at it. Some tracks are a bit hit and miss, but overall its really worth listening to, atleast once.
needed a new thread anyway. this is the first Nick Cave record I've heard. I wasn't expected a lush, smooth yet heavy album. I know he was known for his punk styles so after going onto hearing other albums by them, it makes sense for hardcore fans to not be feeling this one. That being said, it's fantastic and soothing. It's like bathing in warm milk. :-) kind of gay but that's life.
you should check out dig, lazarus, dick next. its a pretty noisy album compared to this i guess.
yeah i've listened to about 3 of their albums now. Dig Lazarus is awesome.
Really rare so I'm not quite sure how you'll find it. It's a very warm latin jazz record, accompanying Vincius Cantuaria is none other than Ryuichi Sakamoto and Arto Lindsay. This is pretty much a gem that went undiscovered. It should have been very significant but y'know how 90s music gets buried under the rest. Really worthwile:

I had Really high expectations of this album, yet it somehow ended up Way better! This is about as near perfection you can get in doom! I revised this and elaborated on my thoughts a bit more, but not much. Iceage - You're Nothing Genre: Post-Punk/Punk/Noisey Rock/Depressed Swedes It's a single arching movement brought about by the little will that comes with being melancholy. A explosion of disorganized depression. It's all out of synch and cluttered. It vibes in good ways, but it's not always good vibes. In a non-deep way, it's an awesome post-/punk/noise-rock album.
remarkable record.. not for everyone because it isn't a whole lot "conventional". Very euphoric and worth a look.
[thumb]http://www.freakenergy.ru/uploads/posts/2011-09/1315336949_dj-shadow-the-less-you-know-the-better.jpg[/thumb] DJ Shadow - The Less You Know, The Better Genre: Electronic, Hip Hop, Instrumental Hip Hop, Trip Hop Shadow's latest record from 2011. I have given it a couple of listens and it's pretty damn solid. It's all over the place in mood and it definitely doesn't feel as whole as Endtroducing.., but the tracks are still wonderful as ever. Samples are still obscure and brilliantly put together as per usual, exploring a whole arrangement of genres. I'd say give it a listen.
it's kinda average tbh, better than "The Outsider", but nowhere near private press/endtroducing calibre.
it's kinda average tbh, better than "The Outsider", but nowhere near private press/endtroducing calibre.
Sure, it's not Endtroducing, but I thought it was good nonetheless.
great hidden pop rock gem from the 80s. guess it fits the "jangle/power pop" category, it's a very strong record. trouble is... it's a bitch to find. CD goes for £40-100 onwards, it's that rare. Yet when you listen to it, you feel a real intricacy in its production, you kind of feel sorry that it is such a rare record. For any fans of alt rock in general (mercury rev-esque), this is a good'n. [editline]11th March 2013[/editline]
[img_thumb]http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/58699695/Symphonic+Suite+AKIRA+geinou+yamashirogumi++symphoni.jpg[/img_thumb]
bookmarked it, but i reckon i'll see the film first.
Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle-Earth Genre: Power metal if you're spergy enough to like power metal you've probably already read the Silmarillion
unbelievably beautiful jazz record with a tango feel. I need more like this..
If you're a fan of post punk you all owe it to yourself to hear this album oh man
[img_thumb]http://f0.bcbits.com/z/15/73/1573978675-1.jpg[/img_thumb] Fables of the Sleepless Empire Unexpect Now here's an album worth listening. One of the most beautifully fucked up metal albums I've heard. It combines death metal-y growls with beautiful female vocals and really complex, dissonant and odd instrumentation. Normally I don't even like growls like this, but they fit the album perfectly and work as a great contrast to the female vocals. Definitely not an album for everyone, since it's far from accessible, but for people who want to try something different, it's a must listen.
platEAU Kushbush + Music for Grass Bars special edition The first disk, Kushbush, is full of crazy experimental electronic jams consisting of jittery techno beats, warm analog synths and glitchy industrial aggression. The second disk, Music for Grass Bars, is their older stuff from the late 90s. It's great old-school techno with pounding 909s and hazy synths. There are some bonus tracks included. Both Music for Grass Bars and Kushbush have an improvised feel to them. This was originally released in 2007, but it is being re-released this year. So look out fer it! Immerse yer self!
Band: Infinitas Album: Journey to Infinity Genre: Depressive Black Metal/Blackgaze Year: 2012 One of the better finds from my mid-March blackgaze/post-bm rush. Astounding stuff! I especially like what they've done with the vocals.
Band: Derdian Album: Limbo Genre: Power Metal Year: 2013 Seemingly a not so well known band, but they're a small Italian Power Metal band, very Sonata Artica cross Kamelot style. It's actually really awesome.
Artist: It's on the album cover. Genre: Blues Rock Seriously the best artist I ever stumbled upon. I'm terrible at like going into the details of how songs sound but fuck it just give it a listen, it's all I can say.
Band: Dystopia Nå! Album: Syklus Genre: Depressive Black Metal/Depressive Rock Year: 2011 The other major find from the blackgaze/black-rock rush. If I were to describe Dystopia Nå! quickly I'd compare them to Lifelover, but with some cleans. And in Norwegian. Kjempegreit musikk, no matter what! Somebody recommend me some Pharrell Williams

Really happy, upbeat, rocky doujin Jpop with fantastic female vocals. Usually, I'd say having really samey music is a bad thing, but Primary's is just a ton of fun to listen to and doesn't seem to get old at any point. The production is top-notch and lively, which is a nice surprise from the usual plasticy, soulless doujin production that I hear so often. Worth a listen to people who just want something to help them get a good mood.
Somebody recommend me some Pharrell Williams
as far as i know you have to start with N*E*R*Ds in search off...
as far as i know you have to start with N*E*R*Ds in search off...
and for some albums produced by him check out clipse's Hell Hath No Fury and justin timberlake's justified. he's really a producer above all, and a pretty god damn great one.
That's not actually the title or the art. It's the same art as BBDLP1 and is just called Big Black Delta. It's pretty stupid, it only has 5 new tracks.
Australian folk indie. I just downloaded the entire thing and haven't heard a single bad song.
Genre: The best I could describe it as is Electronic Folk Year: 1974 This is an odd little album but it's actually a pretty good listen. It's almost impossible to find in the US but all the songs are on Youtube. Really synthy stuff. The songs are really short, ranging from 2:48 to only 0:30. The highlight of this album is Sentimental Trip:
Somebody recommend me some Pharrell Williams
Has to be Fly or Die Right, I listened to The Doors- The Doors, and loved it especially The Crystal Ship. Then I listened to L.A woman that many people seem to say is there best, but I don't really like it. The Doors just sounded darker and the keyboard was more awesome. What album should I listen too.
