If this actually works a lot of people are going to be happy.
The PC community triumphs once again. :D TAKE THAT UBISOFT!!!!
I'd be glad, but I'm worried that Ubisoft's just gonna get more bitchy and brutal with their DRM as a result. Anticipating they'll take the hint sounds pretty optimistic.

I don't foresee a method of protection that can't get surpassed, it just takes time and dedication.

Well, you can't protect digital content any more...if it exists, it can be obtained. Even unreleased software is up for grabs.
The next logical step is that they take our money before they produce the game. :smug:
The only effective DRM is to have a CD-key so pirates can't play online which if they like the game they probably will.

*buy it
Damn you no edit button :argh:
As I see it, Assassins Creed II port was a big "fuck you" to all PC gamers, as if they didn't make it abundantly clear by delaying the game by nearly half a year that PC users are second class consumers, they treat us like goddamn animals by integrating this DRM bullshit into the product. Thing is, I was going to purchase Assassins Creed II legally on launch day because I absolutely loved the first one. Thanks for saving me $60 Ubisoft, I'll be sure to never buy any of your future products either.
Thank god, if this was the one DRM method that wasn't cracked then the PC gaming world would go to hell.
Imagine if every game used that shitty DRM. I mean regular DRM is like having the game company strap you down and poop on your chest, but Ubisoft's DRM is like a big fucking diarrhea shit all over your face.
Best DRM is the rewards and constant updates that valve and dice do.

I expect that from activision.
Preorder DLC.
I honestly don't think pirates will suddenly start buying games just because a working copy protection is invented.
They just download them because they can get them for free, not because they want them.

Old news zips, came out last week.

Until you submit something as news, you really cannot whine about something being "old news" when I get it up.

Just because you have seen it, does not mean everyone else have seen it.

There wasn't a scene release until yesterday.
Thank you Ubisoft, this was quiete a challenge for us, but
nothing stops the leading force from doing what we do. Next
time focus on the game and not on the DRM. It was probably
horrible for all legit users. We just make their lifes easier.
Wise words from Skidrow, maybe the actions of Skidrow will make Ubisoft listen.

Careful, he doesn't like criticism.
The server emulator stuff was released way before, so the game's been cracked for some time actually. The bad thing about this DRM now is that people will already know how to crack/emulate it, except for maybe minor updates done to it.
fuck you ubisoft, in your face!
off to enjoy my AC2.

He can. You don't have to be a porn star to say that some porn star is ugly.

It's like telling a director that his movie is shit and then he tells you to go make your own movie before insulting his.

Some people just can't take criticism...

But you can't tell a director his movie is shit, because if you are the one criticizing him, be sure your accomplishments at least meet up to his, or your opinion is not valid, even if it is justified.

Why are people still complaining about normal DRM? Like it or not game companies have to do something to protect there games. I hate DRM but I hate shitty console ports even more. IMO devs should remove heavily restrictive DRM like this from games once it is cracked and replace it with something like securom just so it has some protection.

There is no DRM that actually does something good for the customer, except steam.
Hmm...I've heard of Skidrow, a very famous game-cracker apparantly.

as much as that is true, doomsayers believe that this could end up hitting us in our own feet when/if/as if lol, the big guys give up on our market.
Well, the only drm that took longer to crack was starforce that took almost a year to crack.
