Hello, I'm a bit new to this section, so pardon me if I majorly fuck something up. I got a cool idea for an album cover, and even though I don't write or really play music, I'd thought I'd whip it up. The black around it is just for if it ever gets printed, I read a guide where it says the main 4.5"x4.5" area is where the important stuff should go, and the rest around it be the background. This was a cool project for me because I rarely get inspired this much, and when I do, I normally just end up getting distracted and stopping half-way through. So, this was really fun once I got going. I'd like to know if there's anything that I should change, or anything like that. If any musician would like to use this, then just PM me.
It's cool I like it.
It's a filter, isn't it.
I am going to assume it is not a filter based off the OP. It looks like it could be a filter effect, but I'm very sure it isn't. I think it's kind of cool. I think you should have gone with smaller circles to get the shape of the pupil in better, but either way it's a cool type of art. Now I'm trying to remember some famous disabled painter who does huge mosaic art.
It's a filter, isn't it.
I actually took the time to get the color from the space the circle was going to be, fill a 10x10 circle, then place it there. Then I did that 840 more times. Come to think of it, it probably would have been quicker to: Download photoshop Learn how the filters work Apply a filer or two But I didn't do that, I used flash. Whoa, impressive. It's not all that great, but considering you did it manually without using magic other than filters, that's qite impressive. Use brighter colours for the iris and use some reference photos to get the lighting right, also make the pupil a circle. It'll look more striking that way.
http://www.terrapinphoto.com/jmdavis/eye%20SM5K.jpg That's the picture I used. I didn't bother editing the colors around, though I probably should do that once I'm a bit more awake. I didn't really worry about lighting, either. I just took the colors from the picture, put it in a circle, then moved that circle over the spot where the color was. I'm going to screw around with it tomorrow, though.
nice work for being crazily done by hand. I don't think there's a filter for photoshop that does this by default, but I figure someone out there made something to the effect and left it floating around cyberspace for download/purchase. Kind of inevitable with this kind of stuff, but it's really impressive when you know it was done manually.

fuck filesmelt is down? I can't see the image
Holy God. How long did it take you..?
Between an hour and a half and 2 hours [editline]12:49PM[/editline] I made another one, just with about 90% more blue.
The blue doesn't mix as well in that one, but the pupil looks a lot better. Zooming out on the imagine is a good way of quality checking.

Also, I wasn't really going for realistic, more of a fantasy kind of look, but it still needs some touching up. [editline]05:04PM[/editline]
nice work! there are a few bright anomalies that maybe if you toned down would give a smoother overall appearance, but perhaps you like it as it is!
Very nice artwork! And the pupil looks a lot better then it did in the first image.
i like the green one better
