• New computer, newly formatted, but will not boot Windows 7

So I got a new computer and there were problems so I had to reformat it. I deleted the two partitions that were on the SSD, clearing it off completely. I chose the SSD and installed windows 7 from the installation CD. It installed fine and booted up. Problem is I think I messed up somewhere along the way, because when the computer starts (and in the BIOS is set to launch to the SSD), it doesn't boot to windows. It says "Media test failure, check the cable" I can launch windows manually if I set the bios to the "Windows Boot Manager" or whatever it's called, and then launch windows "normally", but if the BIOS is set to boot from the actual SSD, it does that media test failure. I think there's something wrong with the booting.. I looked at suggestions online and found that people did the system repair for booting from a windows 7 cd. I tried that, except when I hit repair the CD says I'm not using the right version of windows, so I can't use the repair function... Yes this version of windows is legitimate. Can anyone help? Perhaps the bootsector is set on the normal HDD instead of the SSD. usually Windows chooses to install the bootsector on the harddrive connected to SATA port 0 (or 1 if 0 is not present).
Or you should check if the cable is not broken and barely touching the communication pins of the drive. A friend had a similar issue with a broken SATA cable. Or like Drumdevil says, try to connect the drive to SATA 0. (or if not present, 1).
