Got a Crank vibe from the whole video. Which is awesome because Crank is fucking hilarious and badass at the same time.
That was fucking amazing
It appears like kitty did that. randumb jokes, tf2 sounds and shopped-in effects.
Pretty well done. Editing was what held it together for me. I did feel like it was a bit long though.
Color me impressed, Kitty actually did it right this time.
Good to know kitty still has it.
Jesus christ, this would have been way better if it wasn't for all the random effects and sounds, it looks and sounds like it was edited by someone who's either on crack or has ADD.
Is that Alan wake in the car? :v:
That was incredible. Really, really good work!
Uhg, another Kitty0706 video. I can never fully enjoy his videos because they just kill me. This kid has talent but actively chooses to squander it in childish humor and half baked mindless jokes with no finesse. Kitty didn't "do it right" this time. He is very far from it actually. The closest he's been to "doing it right" was the Salesmen. In his videos he abuses effects like crazy, frivolously applying them to the point of redundancy. I don't need an effect of glass going everywhere when he's breaking a window, i can see the glass breaking in the game just fine. He abuses the hell out of color correction and every movie is always this odd unnatural color which doesn't add any sort of effect or make sense, it's just there to make everything some arbitrary color. He accompanies EVERYTHING with a sound effect no matter if it fits or not. Not everything needs to make a sound effect, at times silence even works better. Even then if you must use a soundeffect for everything, he could at least use DIFFERENT ONES, and not have a fart sound for everything. The camera is absolutely never still, it's constantly moving and jerking about. The angles randomly jump in and out of intense (and pointless) zoom ins and close ups. It shakes too much for it have an actiony "handicam" effect and looks like it was just attached to a blender blade and pulsed for a few seconds. A jerky camera can be a good thing, look at films like Bourne (which pretty much popularized it for action films). But he takes it to extremes. Kitty is also consistently inconsistent. He never changes things up and never keeps to the same thing in his films. At the beginning he was censoring every curse with a fart sound bit yet 3 minutes later completely abandons the censoring. He can't keep to a single genre, it's either a full on comedy or full on action/thriller. You can do a action comedy but not with Kitties randumb humor and beyond immature and half assed jokes, it's one or the other man. He has no understanding of what a plot is and only knows beginning middle and end. Yes that is the basic structure of a plot but it's the skeleton. He doesn't build on to that nor give it any meat. Speaking of plots, almost every film he does it's the same plot. It starts out with some cool badass character (voiced by himself naturally) going about his average day when someone does some minor thing to him. The word "faggot" gets exchanged at least once and several gay jokes are made and suddenly they're in a large scale long distance battle of epic proportions all throughout both characters make "funny" jokes. Then after about 4 different confrontations, at the end something "dramatic" happens and there's like a moral standoff, music gets really slow and dramatic, the video often falls into grayscale, the enemy dies and the hero triumphantly leaves. Kitty's "The Salesman" did all of this differently. It had more of it's own jokes, almost no "lol homo" jokes, and had the closest thing to a proper plot that wasn't the same thing everytime. To top it off, the hero actually dies later, although he copied the ending directly from the game "Mafia" it was still different than all the others. Kitty has a legitimate talent but instead he caters to 12 year olds and refuses to challenge himself and actually create a more serious movie more about an original story than just a video with fart jokes, special effects, and BADASS EFFECTS MANG. It doesn't even have to be serious, just something that doesn't have a camera controlled by a squirrel on a sugar high, fart sounds for everything, and random closeups. QUICK EDIT: I forgot to point out that he completely fails to understand the idea of a "hero". He's not going for an anti hero approach and tries hard to make every charcter he creates (which are almost all the same hero wise), an ultimate badass. However he contradicts this and he does so brilliantly against himself in this machinima. The hero is smug and sarcastic, assholish too making fun of the enemy but this hero is CONSTANTLY getting injuried by ordinary things, and kitty will highlight them usually in an attempt at a humorous pass at the games mechanics (example being when tommy falls off the ledge after randomly stumbling over the lamp post. he messes his ankle up and the hero whines about it for a few seconds then mentions AND SUDDENLY IM GOOD ALL RIGHT") This would work if the film consitently made fun of the game, but he only did it 3 times. And really only one of the times (the cheat code) was the only one that could really be said to have been a hint towards it being a game.
fucking giant analyzation
You do know the video wasn't meant to be a serious machinima right?
You do know the video wasn't meant to be a serious machinima right?
Oh so because it's not a serious plot he's exempt from critique and doesn't have to try to improve himself or use original ideas and jokes for once? Even if it's a funny comedy video you still need some effort in there and not just random effects and petty jokes.

If it was a serious GTA IV machinima (which are usually pretty boring) then yeah going all crazy camera effects would be a bit of a bad choice, but the video is supposed to be an over the top fight scene. And this is a massive improvement over the ragdoll flail gmod videos he usually makes.
Take a look at his Salesman video i was talking about. It's still silly and nonsensical, but he does it in a much more mature way and didn't have to resort to gay jokes, curses, and fart jokes for everything. Hell even the camera work in it was good. I'm not BLINDLY HATING on Kitty. I can laugh at his videos, but it just pains me to see people adore him for videos that are otherwise badly edited and written. He made progress with Salesmen then took 4 steps back. I understand that this is all subjective but a COMEDY fight scene doesn't need crazy camera angles and color correction is completely irrelevant in terms of comedy. Also loads of effects are not fine when you can't go a second without having them used where they weren't needed. And he stopped the gmod flail vidoes awhile back. He still does them but it's not his main thing now. Long ago he proved that he do this in other games and not use flailing ragdolls.
I liked it.

This whole thing is basically "hmm I can't think of any real jokes or interesting parts so I'll just make every second have 50 sound effects and 20 special effects on top, that'll make it funny and interesting!"
I would have loved it if I could actually distinguish the songs from each other.
Why would you use a username on a masterpiece like this? He should at least include his real name beside it.
I enjoyed it!
Yeah that was sick
Couldn't make it halfway through the video, the horrible camera effects and terrible sound ruined it for me.
TF2 sounds ruin it.
I would have loved it if I could actually distinguish the songs from each other.
Yeah that's another thing, half of the time there were so many sound effects going on that I couldn't hear pretty much any of it, whether it was music or dialogue. [editline]25th December 2012[/editline] It was like trying to listen to someone's conversation in a extremely crowded mall while there's loud music blasting trough the speakers around.
it was... ok?... I guess? seriously though, it was very much hard not to blank face this shit. if kitty wasn't a fuck head and abused effects/sounds/overused jokes he'd go places. [editline]25th December 2012[/editline] also why the fuck does the glock sound like that, are you kidding me?
I thought it was funny, but it would be loads better if he mastered the sound effects and didn't make everything so loud
Yeah the real problems with this are 1. TF2 Sound effects, so out of place 2. Color correction out the ass, I'd rather spend my life with my eyes permanently having instagram filters 3. Shit was so loud you couldn't really hear the voice acting, what the fuck? The voices I heard sounded good, too. All of this overshadowed the amazing camera angles and the almost perfect choreography.
I agree on all counts but this. I used to have this attitude about my friends who played instruments very well but wouldn't do anything worthwhile with them. I called one of them out on this because it irked me so, about challenging yourself and all that, and he simply responded with "why?" If Kitty enjoys making these over the top, jerky camera, shitty color, immature joke machinimas, why change that? Who's to say his passion isn't elsewhere like mathematics or something? Certainly if he put in the effort he could make great videos and get noticed by some cool company (like Robert Stoneman and Litfuse Films did), but he seems to be happy where he is right now.
Need more filter rape and slow-mo effects.
