• Recovery disks won't work.

Hey, Facepunch. Well recently my mom's laptop got a trojan virus on it so I decided to format and restore the factory default settings on it. I got out the recovery disks I usually use, formatted the computer, and reinstalled everything, and the discs worked fine until the computer said "Please insert disc 3." Well this wouldn't be a problem, except i didn't FUCKING have disc 3. So I went to HP's website to order some new recovery disks. I typed in the model name for my laptop, HP Pavilion dv9009us, and some other information, and a few days later, I got my recovery discs, labelled 435159-001, 435191-001, and 439175-B21. I put them in the computer, and what do you know, I got this error that read "NTLDR is missing, Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart." The old recovery disks work fine, besides the fact that I don't have the last disk, but it won't recognize the new ones. What can I do to get my computer back up again? By the way, if this isn't enough info to help with the problem, just ask, and I'll give you some more. tl;dr: lost recovery disk, ordered new ones, new ones don't work
Either call HP support, or use your own copy of whatever OS she wants on there (if you have one).
Call HP Support? I don't see how I didn't think of that... lol. I'm just really frustrated, but I might do that later. Keep the suggestions coming!
I just realized that I got the wrong discs after checking that the numbers on the ordering information form and the disc numbers were totally different. I called HP to replace the discs for me, and soon, I'm gonna verify whether discs 435337-001 and 435337-002 are the discs that I want as opposed to 435159-001 and 435191-001.
This is why Microsoft installs WinPE alongside Win7. Make sure the BIOS's boot order has CD/DVD before the Hard Disks.
The old recovery disks work but the new ones do, but I shall check anyways.
Tried all the disks. Nothing. "NTLDR is missing. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart." Check this link because it seems like this guy is having the same problem as I am: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Operating-systems-and-software/Cannot-Load-Recovery-Discs-for-Media-PC-Model-m7060n/td-p/5794 To be honest, I'm starting to believe that 435337-002 is actually the set number for the discs that I got, instead of being a disc number itself.
