From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends. Screaming with laughter and fun, “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”) and produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”). The film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theatres.
I don't really know what to think of this film. When I heard they were making another film I expected a sequel, I think that would work better than a prequel. But this is Pixar, even if the director of Cars is making it, and I have a lot of confidence in them.
I really hope they don't mess this up. Monsters INC is one of my favourite pixar movies.
So the idea of Boo as a adult was scrapped? I would see that as a third sequel though.

I rewatched Monsters Inc. couple months ago. Still amazing.
I don't like the idea of a prequel. Or prequels at all really.
I don't think I have to say what a stupid idea this is. But I'll do it anyway. This is a stupid idea.
Sequel would've been better than prequel, IMO.
Bloody. Sequel would be better.
I don't really mind if it's a sequel or a prequel, I'm just excited at the prospect of more monsters inc. stuff :buddy:
Meh I'll watch it and probably enjoy the hell out of it, but I really want Pixar to cut back on the prequels/sequels and do more original films. Will Billy Crystal and John Goodman reprise their roles? If so, I'd probably see it.

They did a cracking job at that.
Eh, I don't like prequels. The entire things just end up right where you started.
I, for one, like the idea of a prequel and highly look forward to this
the world needs more john goodman so i endorse this
YES!!! I've been waiting forever for a Monsters Inc sequel. Now for The Incredibles
This probably won't be that bad considering one of the selling points was the contrasting characters of the first, and this pretty much capitalizes on that.
the world needs more john goodman so i endorse this
this is very true [editline]13th May 2011[/editline]
I want more like 'UP'. Funny how similar the two movies would've been. Pixar has awful luck with that, like when Antz and Bug's Life came out.
Wasn't there a video-games tie-in for Monsters Inc. that took place right after this movie's events (then non-canon, obviously) but way before the actual movie's events? I remember playing the fuck outta it.
Ohfuckohfuckohfuck. Cant wait, gotta go find my vhs player and monsters inc vhs
I wanna see Wazowski in nerd glass(es?)
I wonder why the director of the original Monsters Inc isn't directing this. Also, apparentally another person with the same name as the director was staffed in Playboy: No Boys Allowed, 100% Girls.

I played the demo for one on PS1 it was pretty good
Doesn't matter if it was Monster Porn Shop, Pixar would make it great

[editline]14th May 2011[/editline] Ah it was The Bear and the Bow, renamed Brave. Thought it was scrapped but apparently not. It's actually coming out before this.
