• Witcher 3 executes my PC (like BSOD but not BSOD), GTA 5 works perfect maxed out. What's happening?

I should probably have my own mega thread by now from all technical issues I am having. Specs: [t]http://oi61.tinypic.com/2qs9i7k.jpg[/t] Anyway, I've been playing witcher 3 recently but now I ran into a trouble. First it took 20 minutes to just crash game. Then it took 20 minutes to lock up my PC fully requiring PC hard restart. Then it took 30 seconds to lock up my PC fully requiring PC hard restart. Basically when I load game and start moving in game - the game locks up, then PC locks up, all monitors go black, grey and black, sound goes way off and just falls into this "bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" non stop, keyboard LED's don't respond to controls, just total lock up. No minidump is created so I assume it's not BSOD. Prior to complete lock ups - game was freezing because nvidia drivers were crashing. GTA V works with steady 40-50 fps when all settings are maxed out (except MSA, which is set to x2). Temperatures in both games (in GTA V playing and during Witcher 3 lock up) are: CPU: Avg - 44, Max - 52 (Celsius) GPU: Avg - 60, Max - 71 (Celsius) Any possible reasons for this? P.S - Event log doesn't say anything except kernel power (because of unexpected restart) P.S.S - Witcher 3 bought from GOG. Driver version: 352.86 (latest)
Did you make sure that the exe for the Witcher is set to use your dedicated GPU rather than your desktop one?
Did you make sure that the exe for the Witcher is set to use your dedicated GPU rather than your desktop one?
What? It's FX-8350, it doesn't have integrated GPU afaik unlike Intel CPU's do.
That is true. If you have Nvidia Inspector, you can look and see if "Threaded Optimization" and other optimizations are on or off. You can also use it to check if AA or other features are the ones causing problems.
Could it be your ram? The recommended is 8, could be pushing it with only 8.
