It's tough to think of a well-mannered Earthling who didn't at least appreciate, if not adore Logitech's cutting-edge G5 laser mouse back in 2005, and at long last, said critter has a proper successor. Today, Logi's introducing the Gaming Mouse G500, which is designed with an on-the-fly adjustable DPI system (up to 5,700 DPI), a battle-worn finish, a broader thumb rest than before and a "smoothed-out pinkie ledge" to really round things out. The 27 gram mouse also packs a dual-mode scroll wheel, a "gaming grade" laser engine and a small bag of bragging rights to boot. Moving on, we've got the Gaming Headset G330, a rather unsightly bugger that sports a behind-the-head design, a noise-canceling microphone, in-line audio controls and a USB adapter. If you're interested in claiming either as your own, look for the G500 to ship in September for $69.99, while the G330 hits shelves this month for $49.99. Full release is after the break.
Goddamn it, I wanted a G5, not a ugly version of it. I would get the headset but around the head makes me :argh:
Same price, should launch sometime this month or the next.
It's the same thing, but looks dusty and replaces the + and - with a scroll thing.
And a bit more blocky design.
Damnit, does newegg still sell the old version?
[editline]3:34[/editline]
Oh thank god, i'm gonna grab one while they're available. The shell design is the best part about the G5
Damnit, does newegg still sell the old version?
For now, I guess http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104076
[editline]01:38AM[/editline]
I should get a G5 while they are still here, I have almost everything upgraded on this computer....except my mouse
God Damnit, I hate the g5 (Yes, get over it) so now they release an irresistible one... that looks like shit! good work for putting me off more!
I love my deathadder <3
Oh fuck I sent my G5 into warranty I hope I don't get this as a replacement.
I still have my old G5, the first version (not the blue one).
This one:
what the hell are you gunna use 5700dpi for
Gaming i suppose, i use 3200 DPI right now. And it goes good, but i guess i could use 5700 DPI after a while. :3: UNFAIR ADVANTAGES!
Looks good. The scroll wheel seems to be better than the one in G5. I don't like that slider thing though.
Hmm, I want one. I love my G5 and all, but that thing sounds nice.
i never really liked the logitech mice designs. just seems, well, a bit clunky and gross looking. this is just even more so. i might just stuck with my microsoft/maybe razer mice.
mx518 4 life
50$ for a mouse? jesus i just use a default microsoft mouse

I don't think it's a slider, if you look carefully you can see the edges of a hole around it.
Am I the only one who thinks the first one looks awesome compared to the second one (colour). But this third one looks way worse then both?
behind-the-head earphones dont work when will they fucking learn
The OP doesn't provide a picture of the headset, but behind-the-head is where you have the round earphones connected by a plastic thing that goes behind your head right? I've never used those, what's wrong with them?

I don't know what's wrong with them. Enlighten me.
god damn I love my G5 :D
I'm the only one who uses a normal mouse? With only 2 buttons and a wheel?
God damn why do you need a high tech mouse my $12.50 microsoft mouse is all I ever needed.
I actually like it.
I was planning on grabbing a G5 next month, think I might spring that forward a few months. I don't like the look of the new one.
battle worn my ass
it's just brown
oh wait right brown is realistic that means it's cool now
With the dirt design it looks like it was made for war games, not a bad idea. Kinda badass.

They don't actually fall off your head as often, but where is the weight going? Rather than your whole head it puts the weight directly on your ears, and with a heavy headset like mine is head-hell.

I was forced to add a head strap.

I don't like that G500, or some of the home use logitech mice that throw in odd scroll wheels and a odd design but the MX518G5/G7 have a very rounded organic shape to them,

What are the + and - buttons on the side if the sensitivity slider replaces the sensitivity buttons?

50$? Damn the prices have gone down, I payed over 100$ (90€) for my G5 when I got it (then again that was a few years ago).
