The Netherlands had asked the court for advice about three gay citizens of those countries seeking asylum. The European Court of Justice (ECJ) says asylum can be granted in cases where people are actually jailed for homosexuality in their home country. ECJ rulings apply to all EU members.
"EU says gay immigrants from Africa can claim asylum in Britain" "Thousands of Daily Mail readers found dead in mass suicide"
You'd have to be ass-backwards to jail somebody for the sake of their sexual orientation, but I welcome the move because it's a step towards an inclusive society for such people.
About fucking time.
This is a good thing, both because we're accepting these people, and because of the utter rage that's sure to follow.
Not that this isn't a really good thing, but what's stopping them from getting asylum normally, or does asylum require a sufficient reason?
WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE.
"EU says gay immigrants from Africa can claim asylum in Britain" "Thousands of Daily Mail readers found dead in mass suicide"
Gay, African, Asylum and EU dictated. The four horsemen of the apocalypse for the Daily Mail reader.
Nice to hear. I'm certain there's going to be some kind of anger over this issue, but it's not like gays ever did anything wrong. They get persecuted all the time for no god damn reason and don't deserve it. People just need to stop being so paranoid or hateful of them.
President of The Gambia has said he'd cut off the heads and penises of any gay men found in the country. Thank fuck they can now leave these shitholes.
Gay, African, Asylum and EU dictated. The four horsemen of the apocalypse for the Daily Mail reader.
And they are also Muslim.
And they are also Muslim.
Wish I was in Britain right now. I could brew a cuppa with mailer tears and I would savor every last drop. Edit: Yours will have to do, Blackbird88.
I'm good with this. No one deserves to be oppressed because of a personal choice that doesn't hurt anyone else.
I'm good with this. No one deserves to be oppressed because of a personal choice that doesn't hurt anyone else.
not a choice but close enough
"What, you're gay and want asylum? Alright. See this guy's bum? Pleasure it and you're in!"
not a choice but close enough
It's illegal to live a gay lifestyle, not have gay thoughts (no one would even know). So yes, living an actively gay lifestyle is a choice.
Not that this isn't a really good thing, but what's stopping them from getting asylum normally, or does asylum require a sufficient reason?
Asylum requires a reason, they have to be seeking asylum from something. Otherwise its just a normal attempt to immigrate to a country which can be quite hard.
well, my mom isn't going to be very happy about this :v: brb listening to her telling me that gays are freaks of nature and that i must grow up to be normal straight man etc
It's illegal to live a gay lifestyle, not have gay thoughts (no one would even know).
Just because I can choose not to do it doesn't make it a choice, I can choose not to be black by taking plastic surgery but that doesn't make it a choice.
Having a gay partner is a choice as shown by the large number of gay people who don't currently have a partner, and that's what's illegal. In your example inaction is the problem, in this example, action is the problem*. Those are completely different. *Note: I don't think having a gay partner is a problem, but that's what's considered a problem in those countries.

Ban this gay african filth
Just because I can choose not to do it doesn't make it a choice, I can choose not to be black by taking plastic surgery but that doesn't make it a choice.
That's not a very good example, choosing to have less than convincing plastic surgery is not the same as abstaining from having sex. I mean, I wouldn't ever expect someone to force themselves into abstinence on fear of having their knobs cut off, but please try to make a better comparison.
It's illegal to live a gay lifestyle, not have gay thoughts (no one would even know). Also FYI it's illegal to BE GAY in some African countries. The president of Gambia had this to say. "We will never allow homosexuals in this country. Any gay caught in the Gambia; we will cut his penis into pieces. You will either be a man, or go find a visa and settle in the West. I am giving a stern warning to gays: 'Stay away from the Gambia. Don’t come here.' If I catch any gay here, I will cut his penis into pieces." He says nothing about whether you have a partner or anything, just about if you are gay. Even if it was about having a partner, it's disgusting that someone should be persecuted for acting on their most primal emotions when it's not hurting anybody. I thought being gay and growing up at an Anglican/CofE Academy was bad enough. It's impossible to imagine how bad it must be for people in these retarded, backwards countries.
But what country is willing to take them in? Great initiative none the less

It is literally impossible for anyone to know you're gay without acting it out in some way or telling people.
Bring AIDs as the UK needs it so much.

It is literally impossible for anyone to know you're gay without acting it out in some way or telling people.
Yeah, no. Sometimes people just know you're gay, I am not someone who people would naturally assume is gay. I had openly voiced my opposition to Gay Adoption on a couple occasions and both times been called a homophobic dinosaur, I'm a member of a Far-right political party (UKIP), I had never had a boyfriend or known I had acted in a way that might make me seem gay before. Despite all this out of the blue my best friend asked me if I was gay, she said she had thought so for a while just because of subtle things I was doing without even realising I had done them until she pointed them out to me. Sometimes people just know because of subconscious things you are doing, so I didn't choose to give away to someone that I was gay but did it without knowing. Do you think that it's my fault I was doing things subconsciously, should I have somehow not done them even though I wasn't even aware I was doing them in the first place? Maybe I am living what you call a 'gay lifestyle' now but I only started to act how I felt after someone had already figured out my secret before I did so. [editline]7th November 2013[/editline]
Bring AIDs as the UK needs it so much.
Don't worry I've already been indulging in the homosexual lifestyle for 2 years and spreading AIDs around Devonshire. My plan for world domination is coming together nicely. Edit again Why did I get a dumb?
And they are also Muslim.
Not necessarily
This is great news, especially considering how the death penalty is being applied to them or is in the process of being established for them.
