Just once I wish we could get an 8-bit remake that was actually accurate to the art style and limitations of the medium.
it seems like people always believe the NES could display a much larger variety of colors than it actually could
i think a lot of retro-looking stuff isn't people trying to recreate old shit as much as it is poor indie devs being poor and choosing an art style that is easy to work with, but also well-received by a lot of people, even if for the wrong reasons

I personally don't mind to be honest, its nice to see Video Games hasn't forgotten its past and the old form lives on in a way against something like the old style silent film which is now unfortunately completely extinct and everybody thinks as a piece of bygone history.
The Spirited away one was okay I guess, the rest of the ones I watched just seemed half-assed taking megaman sprites and painting over them to be in the style of the chosen films. Also it hurts to listen to those '8-bit' GXSCC midis that plague YouTube in the background of these.
