• Motherboard power supply

I got ga-z77-d3h motherboard and there is 2 connectors. ATX (with 24 pins) and ATX_12v (with 4 pins. As much as I know the second (ATX_12v) is for additinoal power, but do I need to connect it. Yes, you will need to connect ti.
The ATX_12v is for providing the CPU with power, the motherboard won't work without it.
