I loved BL1 and 2. I haven't played the DLC for 2 yet, as I plan on getting it all when it's released, but I can honestly say BL2 standalone is one of the finest games I played this year. Bring on BL3.
After seeing the improvements of the second game over the first, I am confident to say that Borderlands 3 shouldn't be a bad game.
I never got why [sp]Roland getting shot was such a big deal, Why didn't just use the NewU station?[/sp]
man as long as that Tiny Tina isnt in BL3 im happy because she was an outright horrible character who was only added because the VA fucks the writer
man as long as that Tiny Tina isnt in BL3 im happy because she was an outright horrible character who was only added because the VA fucks the writer
[sp]The voice actor for tiny tina was the main writers sister AFAIK. She plays in his youtube show.[/sp] :q:
whatever shes a talentless hack and he's a decent writer she shouldnt be in BL2 or 3 too bad shes in BL2
I never got why [sp]Roland getting shot was such a big deal, Why didn't just use the NewU station?[/sp]
There are a few theories on this but mine is that [sp]Jack disabled the station usage for him so he could just die, and seeing as he was the leader of the Sanctuary, it would demoralise his people and make them think they're one step closer to losing the fight with Handsome Jack.[/sp]
i dunno i found a lot of the writing in bl2 to be slightly iffy. parts of it were great (see: handsome jack in general) but a lot of it was just kind of dumb and crass, and not always in an enjoyable way. oh yeah and a lot of the "serious" storytelling really fell flat. after [sp]roland is killed[/sp], everyone in town suddenly gets super-serious and sad and remorseful and it feels hilariously fake and forced.
I think some parts of the borderlands 2 writing was kind of dumb, Especially the way they treated vault hunters, Everyone assumed you are some elite killing machine and the messiah just because you bear the same title as some people who were.
I never got why [sp]Roland getting shot was such a big deal, Why didn't just use the NewU station?[/sp]
NewU stations aren't canon [editline]2nd January 2013[/editline] They don't exist in the world of the game

Even then, it's not a point that's pressed often; Scooter mentions it as well some some of the locals at Sanctuary.
NewU stations aren't canon [editline]2nd January 2013[/editline] They don't exist in the world of the game
Actually, they do.
NewU stations aren't canon [editline]2nd January 2013[/editline] They don't exist in the world of the game
Is that the official statement on them? I always thought that they were "official"; since everything down to the HUD is given similar explanations about them being real and material, they're specifically produced by an actual company in the Borderlands world, and they're explained to you via NPC's without them breaking character to do so.
New U stations are canon when Gearbox fucking decides they are.
Please get someone who can actually write good jokes this time.
I never got why [sp]Roland getting shot was such a big deal, Why didn't just use the NewU station?[/sp]
Whenever Jack kills someone, that person is removed from the NewU system one of the NewU quotes said something about it
Please get someone who can actually write good jokes this time.
And not make "interesting character development" by making everyone bi. No, Anthony Burch, the character isn't more interesting if it's a cardboard cutout that is also bi. [editline]2nd January 2013[/editline]
Whenever Jack kills someone, that person is removed from the NewU system one of the NewU quotes said something about it
Wow, that is some of the most blatant punch-you-in-the-face foreshadowing ever
Please get someone who can actually write good jokes this time.
There are plenty of hilarious lines in BL2. Stop focusing on the occasional meme reference and you might even catch one!
And not make "interesting character development" by making everyone bi. It has nothing to do with character development, their implied or explicit sexuality isn't even developed. It's probably just because it's become more socially acceptable to have LGBT characters in games.

I found a bunch of people were made bi to try to "increase character development" Like Sir Hammerlock. Still a very interesting character. Unneededly bi. I don't have anything against bisexuality, but it's the most useless characteristic for him. It literally adds nothing. He mentions it in a few lines and that's it. It's useless.
Wow, that is some of the most blatant punch-you-in-the-face foreshadowing ever
This is the exact line: "So long as you believe in yourself, nothing can TRULY kill you! Except Handsome Jack." Seriously, have you actually played the game?
Yeah I felt like the gay thing was thrown in at weird parts. There were a few echo logs from characters you never meet who talked about their husband/wife or whatever. But it didn't add or detract anything so it isn't a big deal in my opinion.

I wonder if they were just trying to get away from how it was portrayed in BL1... the whole gay prison and the jokes poked (pardon the pun) at it. Maybe they just wanted to portray homosexuality without it being a joke and it just being something normal that more normal characters were involved in. Ninjas!

It's useless.
Actually, I think Hammerlock is just straight up gay. Moxxi has always been bisexual, and that is more a result of her "Who gives a fuck, do whatever you want." personality. And Hammerlock's sexuality is actually pretty well done because he doesn't play to any of the typical stereotypes of homosexuality. He doesn't lisp, he isn't utterly flamboyant, so its a brief but pleasant surprise when its revealed. And its good that they don't focus on it because the sexuality of the characters shouldn't matter, so by making only a passing mention of it then carrying on, it is just saying "He's gay, big deal, doesn't hurt his character."

That seems like a pretty decent way of going about it, really.
