Probably the best open-world superpower game I've ever played.
Probably the best open-world superpower game I've ever played.
Probably one of the only games that I'd class as Comedy that's actually fucking hilarious.
It was a great game, but I don't agree with it being a best PC game. I'm going to get some lash-back for this but whatever. A lot of the game already felt familiar to me upon first playing because so much of the content is re-used, which by no means makes it remotely bad or not great, I just don't think it was the best. Just like how I wouldn't nominate Assassin's Creed 4 for best game, because it still has the "too familiar with this" segments that just dragged down the parts that were truly new and innovative. If BF4 didn't have all of the stability problems it was having, it would be in the same boat as AC4 and SR4 for me. (but because it does, I'm not even going to consider it) Just major improvements upon their previous game, but once you've played the previous game you've experienced a large portion of what the sequel has to offer. They're all still really good games, and I had a lot of fun with SR4, but it just felt like SR3 with superpowers for me.
Punch a dick in the head | Punch a dick head I suspected I knew what would happen, I was pleasantly not surprised
cod ghosts :v:
Saints Row IV is what the gaming community needed. Every game you get nowadays are way too serious. Saints Row IV was one of the only games this year that said "fuck it" and made a hilarious comedy. My only gripe with SRIV was the length though, felt way too short and Steelport didn't make it any better. Other than that, IV was fantastic.
Saints Row IV is what the gaming community needed.
Yeah but it's not what the series needed.
I had a lot of fun but I think it's far from best of the year, in strictly my opinion of course.
I had a lot of fun but I think it's far from best of the year, in strictly my opinion of course.
This again. Best games of 2013. This is the second.
It was fun, but it was way too repetitive and short.
I wouldn't have agreed with this up until an hour ago after I played to 2 major peices of DLC, Enter the Dominatrix and How the Saints Save Christmas Best shit ever.
Are you guys fucking joking they made you pay £39.99 for SR3 super hero DLC and you class it as "one of the best PC games of 2013"
Are you guys fucking joking they made you pay £39.99 for SR3 super hero DLC and you class it as "one of the best PC games of 2013"
Most DLC for SR3 had like 4-5 missions. I put around 20 hours into SR4 for all the homie missions and to complete the story. I wouldn't call that a DLC.
sr4 was average
Are you guys fucking joking they made you pay £39.99 for SR3 super hero DLC and you class it as "one of the best PC games of 2013"
I can't believe people are still saying this.
I can't believe people are still saying this.
Sorry man, it's just how it felt. It literally felt NO different to how SR3 played, I don't see why they didn't put it out as a DLC...
Sorry man, it's just how it felt. It literally felt NO different to how SR3 played, I don't see why they didn't put it out as a DLC...
What? SR4 plays closer to Crackdown or Prototype than any of the previous Saint's Rows. Hell; one of the most prevalent complaints for SR4 was that all vehicles were functionally useless to the player now, which says quite a bit for a series that started out as GTA with the numbers filed off.
I'm still not sure how I feel about it coming from Saint's Row, but we needed a good open-world superpower game. And this definitely delivers. It's a like a better version of Crackdown really.
But then when you add in the fact that David co-starred alongside Roddy Piper in They Live, the ‘80s cult classic which also serves as one of the game’s inspirations, and then get to witness David and Piper brawling in a scrap reminiscent of They Live’s famous fight scene, hailed as one of the best movie fight scenes ever made, the whole thing becomes spectacularly clever.
What? It just seems like a Family Guy-level reference 'joke' to me.
What? It just seems like a Family Guy-level reference 'joke' to me.
Except Saints Row's joke actually took effort

What the fuck why is everyone suddenly "SAINTS ROW IV GOTY GOTY GOTY" Five minutes ago everyone was like "Saints Row IV was a piece of shit why would anyone pay money for this it's worse than eating dog poop" [editline]21st December 2013[/editline]
I wouldn't have agreed with this up until an hour ago after I played to 2 major peices of DLC, Enter the Dominatrix and How the Saints Save Christmas Best shit ever.
Games should be good without DLC.
Games should be good without DLC.
And it is.
What the fuck why is everyone suddenly "SAINTS ROW IV GOTY GOTY GOTY" Five minutes ago everyone was like "Saints Row IV was a piece of shit why would anyone pay money for this it's worse than eating dog poop" [editline]21st December 2013[/editline] Games should be good without DLC.
I don't think anybody here is calling it GOTY. Just one of the most fun games this year.
Yeah but it's not what the series needed.
You are right, they needed another boring GTA clone entry
