I think that I ain't alone, when I am tired of having to write “-snip-“, “Please delete this thread” etc., and then wait for a thousand and a half years…
Yes, I know facepunch aren’t a democracy, but I just want to know how many people that want an opportunity to delete the threads (both them you have been banned from and the normal ones) that the have made…
Or maybe you should stand by what you post?
Or just make better posts.
"This is dump!" ... yea.
Or maybe you should stand by what you post?
You think I should? Seriusly?
EDIT:
Oh sorry I thought you ment this post only...
But if you post a help me thread and gets the help you wan,it could be nice to delete it you see?
You think I should? Seriusly?
no he's not serious because we all know you aren't capable of that
You think I should? Seriusly?
Well since you're pretty dump, I'd say you could just, you know, not post.
You think I should? Seriusly?
Yup, don't flame it you don't want others to be able so see it at any time, just think of what you post...
Facepunch is not your playground. If you post something, be it stupid or not, stand the fuck up for it. If you don't mean you what you write. Don't! That is all there is to it.
Or maybe you should stand by what you post?
Everyone makes mistakes. I'd rather see someone realize that and retreat their statement to avoid unnecssary drama than to stand by an opinion or a post no matter how stupid it is.
I don't see how deleting post is a bad feature, but since I'm also fine with snipping I'm indifferent.

I don't have a problem with snipping either
The only reason you would want to delete entire threads, is to hide evidence.
Ie post goatse, wait a few minutes, delete

Cant mods see snipped posts anyway?
Cant mods see snipped posts anyway?
I think mods can see if you've edited your post and what you've changed.
Cant mods see snipped posts anyway?
Deletion isn't snipping
Cant mods see snipped posts anyway?
They can see the history of your post
Deletion isn't snipping
So basically wed be able to avoid all forms of punishment by deleting our post?
Sounds ridiculous.
OP only wants this feature so he can delete a thread where he's getting called out for being a terrible mapper:- http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1056872-Mapper-for-quot-hire-quot
That help thread is then there for anyone else with the same problem, who can then find their solution for it quickly. If that thread is deleted then they will make the same thread again, and the people helping them will get annoyed with answering the same questions over and over again.

Actully not... I wan it to be up...it is the locked thread... lol?
Cant mods see snipped posts anyway?
they can see edited and deleted posts. from what I know is that when a mod deletes a post, it will be invisible for regular users and there will be a 'this post has been deleted by abc for the reason 'def', click here to view' or something along those lines.

From what I've seen you can't view deleted posts.

That made no sense what-so-ever...

[editline]22nd February 2011[/editline]
That made no sense what-so-ever...
I don't want to delete that thread, but a locked one...
That thread just got locked...
Yup, but if the sulution only is relevent for the thread poster? :buddy:
No
No
No?
wtf?
Terrible idea. Think before you post, instead.
We'd have people just e.g. deleting dumb things they said previously in order to manipulate debates ("No, I never said I hated gays! (even though that's my general position)"), or when the reaction is not arse-licking as they wanted.
From what I've seen you can't view deleted posts.
but you're no mod
No the solution will be relevant for all users who have the same problem...
Or maybe you should stand by what you post?
Oops rated disagree, when I agree. But yeah OP, people would just delete posts with dumb ratings to not look like idiots, and generally use a delete function to make themselves look better.
