Bought A Razer Lachesis, Very Un-Happy With The Sensitivity

Well A few days ago, I bought this beast of a mouse,

I bought it on account of the good ratings and reviews it received, and I thought it also looked cool.
But, the problem I'm having, isn't due to the funky design it has, but the sensitivity. Sure, you can lower a bunch of the settings in the Profiler, things like DPI, acceleration and Polling Rate, but no matter what I set it at, it just doesn't feel right.
Now, the mouse I used before, was an Intellimouse 4.0,

The Intellimouse wasn't as fast as the Razer Lachesis claims to be (4000 fucking DPI), but what it had, was smoothness and a low response so that it wouldn't jump if you just moved it alittle. Last night I almost threw my Lachesis at the wall because of the amount of rage I built up trying to get my Lachesis just like the Intellimouse.
(Current settings for Lachesis, note that these are not the default settings, the default settings where much more higher than what I have it at now)

The thing about the Lachesis, is that it works only on hard surfaces (If you use it on a soft surface, it's all jittery and shit) so while I'm waiting for my Razer ExactMat, I'm sitting my Lachesis on a hard cover book. What angers me about it, is how delicate it is, no matter what you change the DPI or sensitivity to, it only makes it slower, but the response for it remains the same, making it hard to aim in Counter-Strike and other shooters, it makes me rage so fucking make that I spent so much for something I can't even use that well.
I figure sure I'll get used to it, but I find that very difficult to believe now.
If anyone has a Lachesis and can provide any support as to my issue, I would most appreciate it.
just get used to it.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by sensitivity. Adjusting the dpi should make it less sensitive...
Different mice have different acceleration to them. Some mice move exponentially slower if you move the mouse slower (for example, if you move the mouse slowly for 6 inches, it won't go as far as if you move it quickly for 6 inches)
I recently changed mice and the different acceleration took a week or so to get used to, but I'm good with it now.

Adjusting the DPI for me just makes it slow as hell, I'll try lowering down to like, 500 though.
I suppose it depends on how big your monitor is, how big your mousepad is, and what style grip you use (i.e. I use a claw grip; my mouse doesn't move around much so I have my dpi set higher).
Well I ordered the Razer ExactMat (Apparently the Lachesis works best on this) so I'm going to have to wait and see how it preforms on there.

Scrub-meter levels are hitting the ceiling. Not only did you buy a leet gaming mouse (gimmick) but once you received it and realized you were unhappy with it, you dished out another twenty dollars for a.. gaming mouse-pad.
Sir, what the fuck is wrong with you?

I lol'd when you said 'gimmick'.
Lol gaming mouse pad.
Use the "On-the-fly" adjustment thing, worked for me.

I have that mouse pad, I spent $10 bucks on it when Cirtcuit City went out of business. Its a very nice mouse pad for me, covers up the giant wear spot on my desk pretty well.
You don't need a mouse pad for alot of mice now a day, if you game you might or your desk gets a giant ass mark on top.
