I plan to add an SSD to my Dell Inspiron 530. Supposedly, it needs to be a SATA II for this pc. Am I correct about this? Here are couple I've found; tell me what you think. If there are better deals, would you please suggest them to me? My budget is 70$, I live in Canada. Also I have a few questions about installing it. It will definitely not fit in the designated spot, so can I just tape it to an empty area of the case? Will the SSD package come included with a cable that attaches SSD to mobo?
Don't bother, SSDs at SATA II speeds are a waste.
Sata is backwards compatible. For example, you can hook up a SATA 3 drive in a SATA 1 supported PC. It will still work, though at SATA 1 speed. SSD's have practically no seek time. Altough I strongly suggest you save up a bit more and invest in a better SATA 3 drive.
