i have 250$ for a new desktop computer i want to build, gaming wan't to be able to run crysis were should i buy parts/ what is recommended?
Save more money. You're gonna need at least $350, more for OS and a monitor.
os/moniter is not worried about just the tower itself and components
$250 is still not enough. Save at least 400-500$ then we can help you pick out some decent components.
Go suck some dicks for the extra $50. (http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=10870369) I'd recommending saving at least $400, closer to $500 for a good GPU as well.
Save about $750, trust me, get something that last.

[editline]3rd January 2011[/editline] OP, if you have a hard drive, DVD drive, maybe case and PSU you can reuse, it's definitely somewhat doable.
Where do you guys get these fucking cheap parts, when I built my computer it cost nearly $1000. Is it because I live in Australia? :downs:

Should be able to run Crysis on High quite well. (At a resolution such as 1280x1024, that is).
More like medium-high because of the CPU.
Crysis isn't CPU heavy in the slightest.
Crysis isn't CPU heavy in the slightest.
That $300 built is still outdated the second he places the order. Spending a nice little sum like that on a computer that can almost run Crysis and not much else adequately is stupid, OP should definitely save $600 at least.

But sure, OP should save up some more money and buy a better CPU. Like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103675&cm_re=945-_-19-103-675-_-Product

That computer would run essentially everything adequately. It's not gonna set any benchmark records, but it's perfectly fine for gaming with any games to date. Maybe not on high everything at 1920x1080, but it's fucking $300, what do you expect.
how much would I need to save to be able to play anything within the next 4+ years?
Like $2000. It's way better to just buy a pretty good PC and upgrade every once and a while. [editline]5th January 2011[/editline] Disclaimer: If console gaming holds us back to current graphics I am not responsible.
Cost me $1700 to build my computer, worth it though.
Get at least $500 to start with. You can get a very solid gaming PC for $500, without monitor/OS.
Cost me $1700 to build my computer, worth it though.
Kind of overkill no offense. I would only spend $1000 at most and just upgrade once a year or two.
