A cruise firm has put a temporary halt to stops at three Argentine ports after continuing tensions with the country over the Falklands.
P&O has stopped Arcadia and Adonia from docking in Argentina during round-the-world cruises.
Argentine port authorities have refused permission for liners that have been to the Falklands to dock.
The Southampton-based company said the risk that its ships would be refused entry into the ports was too high.
It comes as tensions over the islands continue between London and Buenos Aires.
A P&O spokesman said: "As a British cruise company we cannot allow ourselves to be the subject of any political dispute or put our customers and crew into any situation where their enjoyment may be compromised.
"With this in mind, we have had to take the difficult decision to remove all Argentinian ports of call from the itinerary."
P&O will now not dock in Buenos Aires, Puerto Madryn and Ushuaia.
Argentina invaded the Falklands in 1982 but British forces recaptured the islands.
Since then Argentina has continued to claim sovereignty over the islands.
i smell a new concept album being written!
"the definitely finalest final cut"
Makes sense. Countries force ships to stay with bullshit reasons all the time.
Good. Fuck Argentina anyway.
Good idea.
I thought they decided that like a couple of months ago.
I'm not gonna defend my country but they have no reason to dock over here other than resupply I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong.
You can always have Chile and Brasil.

I think by stop it means that the ships won't be dropping people off there for a couple of days while on the cruise to look around and shop. Not good for your tourism industry if it is like that.

The Argentinian goverment is probably going to cry in front of the other members of UNASUR for "support", calling the brits "slavers, pirates and conquerers" and overall just losing credibility and some dignity.
I had earlier decided not to post this thread, because I couldn't decide between "bullshitted" and "bullshat"

Our tourism industry currently focuses on making argentine people to stay in the country and spend their money here. Our goverment doesn't give a single fuck. They're "standing strong against colonialism".

Yeah, and they will "support" our crap.
Argentina is going down the shitter with all the corrupt politicians it harbors.

Not sure how someone can be so deluded. Have you being listening to your government's propaganda a bit too much?
Who wants to visit that shithole anyway.
"standing strong against colonialism".
The reason their country exists in the first place!
As an american, could someone explain why britain gives a fuck about some piece of shit islands half a world away in another hemisphere?

Because there is a island that is within British territory. The islands inhabitants have even expressed their wish to be under British rule. Argentina only want the islands because they have large oil deposits.
How the fuck is that in british territory?
Because we once had an oversea's Empire.
Because we once had an oversea's Empire.
Yeah but just cause you invaded another country doesn't make it yours
Yeah but just cause you invaded another country doesn't make it yours
Island was uninhabited until the British & Spanish came to it.
As an american, could someone explain why britain gives a fuck about some piece of shit islands half a world away in another hemisphere?
Because as there are British citizens living on the island, we have a duty to defend them.
Yeah but just cause you invaded another country doesn't make it yours
Then I think you need to have a talk with the Plains Indian Nations.
Yeah but just cause you invaded another country doesn't make it yours
We still have a few oversea territories.
More cruises for us.
Now watch as they stop dredging their side of the Rio de la Plata so nothing can get through. Fucking Argentina *shakes fist at the coastline*
How the fuck is that in british territory?
They're welcome to try and take them back again, maybe this time we should kick their ass all the way into Argentina itself and out the other side.
"please stay"
"I need you"
Yeah but just cause you invaded another country doesn't make it yours
Um, yes it does. That's how invasion works.

[sub]That was sarcasm, I thought the quote marks were giving it away.[/sub]
And yes, I do. Nobody's buying it, no matter how hard they try.
Only people supporting the "model" are zombies under the goverment's checkbooks.
