Good. The story is fascinating.
the ending was atrocious and the game lost its spookyscary after like 2-3h
I hated the ending. It felt like you [sp]didn't accomplish anything other than being the host to spooky ghost guy.[/sp] hopefully the Whistleblower story will be slightly better.
The dlc will elaborate on the story.
I liked the ending, it fits the mood of hopelessness and dread for me. But really Outlast isn't a game you play for the plot anyway... which is weird because it's labeled as psychological horror last time I checked.
come on, outlast was p good at least better than fucking machine for pigs
come on, outlast was p good at least better than fucking machine for pigs
In terms of scaryness, sure, but personally I'm more focused on story in horror games.
I loved the game up until the [sp]final boss fight with the Wallrider[/sp], but even that wasn't too bad. I'd say it was really good, albeit really short, horror game.
I was REALLY disappointed from Amnesia:AMFP, so I was happy to find that Outlast provided me with some scares. Sure, the atmosphere/story wasn't pulled off as great as say, Penumbra, but the tense hiding + chase scenes made the game pretty damn good. I'd love to play some dlc or a sequel. Visuals were also great.
What, is the game not out on XBox or...? [editline]a[/editline] Oh wow, it's not. That really, really sucks.
come on, outlast was p good at least better than fucking machine for pigs
They're not that comparable because they have different focuses.
I just think it's really really weird how [sp]the spooky ghost guy is implied to be a cloud of sentient nanomachines and not an actual detached spirit of the guy.[/sp]
The story of outlast was fucking retarded. It started out promising and as it went it made less and less sense and eventually just jumped a big spooky shark. [sp]The ending where you get shot and die is a good idea, but it was horribly executed. Especially since the actual ending that follows is entirely audio which is cheap as fuck, and the context for the whole thing makes no sense.[/sp] The gameplay and visuals were good but fuck the story was retarded and the premise quite frankly entirely wasted.
They're not that comparable because they have different focuses.
True, but I can't deal with how pretentious the plot turned out to be (and how little scary and/or difficult the game was)
What was wrong with A Machine For Pigs?
It wasnt made by the people who made the original Amnesia, but by the people who made the Dear Esther i think. But i remember they said that it still was decent iirc.
come on, outlast was p good at least better than fucking machine for pigs
anything is better than that garbage tier game though
yeah, that has been done before
your point?
What was wrong with A Machine For Pigs?
Too much to list here. People expected a game like the original Amnesia or Penumbra + were instead given a Dear Esther type game. It took out several features of the original(Sanity, Limited torchlight), you couldn't interact with your environment, there were little to no puzzles, the story was weaker, it felt extremely linear. Those are just a few.
