I am going to build a new computer but dont no what to get so im just wanting to get some suggestions.
At the moment i have: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. 965P-S3 (Socket 775), Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 @ 2.20GHz Conroe 65nm Technology, 2.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 200MHz (3-3-3-9), E151FP @ 1024x768 AMD Radeon HD 6850 ( dont need a new gpu just bought this 1).
So as you can see not a verry great build at the moment. I am wanting to upgrade to: ASUS M4A89GTD-PRO-USB3 USB3 DDR3 Motherboard, AMD AM3 Phenom II x4 955 3.2Ghz Quad Core , G.Skill-Trident 4GB Kit(2Gx2) DDR3 1600 (Intel 775pin, AM3).
I live in Australia so stoors in Aus would help, like http://msy.com.au, http://www.pccasegear.com and http://umart.com.au.
I am prolly going to do some medium level overclocking and want my computer to be relativly quiet.
also, i'd like to get a case that isnt verry heavy because i go to quite a few lans and a decent aftermarket cooler.
My budget is arround 500 - 600 dollers, so if you guys could post some helpful stuff that would help a lot.
The stuff you found is fine, go for it.
I've Heard that the Coolermaster hyper 212+ is pretty good for its price, one of my mates has one and has a similar CPU and he gets temps around the 40's in 30 degree heat. it would probably handle some light overclocking as well. but the AMD mounting hardware is fiddly like a bitch.

It is a personal preference, I prefer the AMD clips over the Intel's push pins.
Get a Sandy Bridge build. It is worth the wait.
Not sure for Australian prices but:
~$150 USD 1155 motherboard
~$250 USD i5 2500k
~$50 USD RAM
whats the difference betwene the two?
between the 955 and the 2500k?
there's a massive performance difference, and the 2500k has more overclocking potential. Of course, the price difference is also quite substantial, so I suggest you look into some benchmarks and decide for yourself whether the 2500k is worth the extra money

if you do decide to go AMD use the money saved and get yourself a better monitor
plus the motherboards are also more expensive which leads to a more expensive package overall. you'll probably save around 150-200 dollars by going with AMD, which then can be spent upgrading your cooling/case.
Anyone got any sugestions for a case???
The HAF 912 is great value.
Cooler Masters, Antec, Lian Li. HAF 9xx series are good as are the CM690s. Antec 100s and 300s are good choices as well. Lian Li's are expensive but from what I've heard the expensive ones are really nice (also heard to stay away from the budget Lian Li's).
