I was super excited and then I saw something about always-online DRM. It made me sad.
I was going to complain about how the roads don't stick to a grid anymore and that just seems off, but then they showed how naturally the zones flow around them, and it doesn't seem important anymore.
EDIT: Oh, wow, when he opened up the modules menu for the wind plant, I was amazed. I wasn't thinking of getting this before, but it really seems like a huge improvement over the last few SimCitys.
And no more mangling everything with pipes and wires? I'm not sure if that makes things too easy now, but it at least looks nice.
too bad it's on borigin
you only need to do a DRM check every time you start the game (just like Steam, guys). So if you lose internet connection while playing, you're not booted out.
Spent way too much of my childhood playing Sim City and Sim City 2000. Definitely buying this.
"SimCity's a game about endless choices. Ultimately, you can do whatever you want."
Apart from play offline.
Still getting it, games looks amazing.
"SimCity"
No subtitle, no number. Isn't a remake.
10/10 name.
I don't really like the name either, but it's unlikely anybody is going to be talking about the original Sim City these days.
Who the fuck cares, it looks amazing.
stuff about drm
Yeah but you can totally launch steam on offline mode, which requires a single connection then you are free to play pretty much any game without internet access, even after reboots.

Even if they aren't, a couple years from now this'll be the game most people remember and therefore everyone will think it's the first and will make me grind my fuckin' teeth when I tell them there's four games before this one
The train tracks tied into the existent ones kinda weirdly but they didn't really show it
The original Sim City for the SNES is my favorite version because of its simplicity.

The original was on PC (MS Dos, amiga, mac, etc) then was ported on snes, I believe.

I don't like how heavy rail trains are capable of doing 90 degree turns like the one he made.

They also do 180 degree turns in the stations. I guess you just have to accept that it's for gameplay purposes.
Let's dump all this toxic sewage into the forest.

They do that in real life to.

They just flip around on to the other set of tracks without any sort of equipment?

That's assuming Steam is actually in a co-operative mood.

Oh, thought you meant they drove the opposite way where they came in from.
Build 12 houses and have enough incomes to provide sewage, water, police and rail great

It's also possible that they were using a dev build set up so that he could add everything without going broke in the video.
Looks a bit simpler than previous titles.
Might be for the best though, unsure.

Police and Casino are the two big sources of income. His simonians didn't increase until he built those.

EA dumbs down everything they touch. They think we're retarded.

Some of the changes aren't all that bad. Having better visual indicators of everything is pretty nice.

Police is a source of income?
That makes no sense.
