• Looking for a monitor

Well, my birthday is coming up in less than a month so I'm deciding to replace my old CRT that takes up half my desk (I have christened it "Lardass"). My only problem is my budget, I ideally don't want to pay any more than £80 maximum. So here's a bit of a challenge for anybody willing to help, I need a monitor with the following specifications: - 1280x1024 resolution (1440x900 acceptable) - Flat as possible, no CRT monitors - Must be lower than £100 with shipping - Must be new, parents insist on having a warranty - Must ship to the UK - No auction websites
why does it have to be that res?
why does it have to be that res?
I just prefer using that res when I'm gaming, looks decent and doesn't harm my fps like a higher res would.

Does the UK have craigslist? You can get a 17" monitor for 50$.
If only, just a single 4890 and a Phenom II X4 955.
that would run 1680x1050 easily, with 60+ FPS in most games probably not far off 60+ in 1920x1080 either, but that's getting to far away from your budget you might want to think about saving up a little more and getting a cheap 1680x1050, it'd be very worthwhile

I feel no need to go any higher. [editline]02:43AM[/editline]
Does the UK have craigslist? Unless somebody can find something cheaper I'll be buying this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-L1734S-inch-Monitor-1280x1024/dp/B001E1UF9U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1271125942&sr=1-2 Anything is better than this CRT, I can't even fit my keyboard on my desk :geno:
1440x900 is a much better resolution if you're concerned about the amount of pixels on the screen, they are also much easier to find for decent prices.
Any 1440x900 monitors I find are more expensive than 1280x1024 ones. If you find a 1440x900 one then sure, suggest it. Lowest price I've found for a monitor so far is approx. £83
Wide screen is best, I got a 22" 1680x1050 for £120 a little while ago, works perfect aside from poor quality speakers. As long as you have a decent computer the frame drop between 1280x1024 and 1680x1050 is minimal.
Just get yours
Updated the OP, max budget is up and I'm willing to try 1440x900 monitors. The two I'm looking at are these: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/19-Digimate-DGM-L-1935WD-Black-Widescreen-LCD-DVI-VGA-1440x900-5ms-300-cd-m-5001-Speakers and http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-047-AC&groupid=17&catid=276&subcat=
