THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DENY ORIGIN RIGHTS NINTENDO.
Have fun not getting Madden 2014 or SimCityU with always online DRM.

Wasn't the whole Origin rights thing proven false since the source was some guy on Reddit?

It was a joke, but ok.
This is a tad silly.
I can play Bad Company 2 on my phone for pete's sake, the Wii U should have something.
EDIT: So do you guys Kaabii, Tripp, think EA shouldn't make Wii U games?
wii u sucks.
wii u sucks.
said only people who've never used one before
yeah man fuck that casual nintendo shit i only PC!
[editline]16th May 2013[/editline]
This is a shame though, I'd have liked DS3 or something on the WiiU
Wasn't the whole Origin rights thing proven false since the source was some guy on Reddit?
For something that was posted before even the Wii U launch, it has been the most logical answer to EA's 180 on the Wii U. Also if something posted on Reddit, doesn't always make it false.
I can't help but feel nothing of real value is lost.
Wasn't the whole Origin rights thing proven false since the source was some guy on Reddit?
yeah, but people will continue to believe this stupid shit because there's nooooo way a negative statement about EA could be false
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/10/23/ea-games-on-wii-u-will-require-origin
also this is what is meant by "origin console." in order to play online, you need an origin account. how is that even a big deal at all, and how does that imply that ea wants to literally take over the wiiu with "EVIL BAD SPYWARE?"
When will EA stop being silly?

When Nintendo makes a decent console then sells enough hardware to bother investing in.
I meant in general but ok.

The Wii U's not a bad console. It's weird as shit yeah but it's biggest problem is they have no games.
Watch; Nintendo'll unveil the next smash bros, a new mario and zelda, sales will spike up, and third parties'll be interested in developing again

why nintendo didn't launch with these games i'm not sure

They wanted to give third parties a chance. Which was retarded. The best Nintendo consoles have had some really good first party games to start with, then the third parties joined in later, the 3DS had the same problem
Nintendo has historically never been the go-to console for third-parties.
And their first-parties games are getting stale, since it's pretty much all rehashes of things from the early 90's

Not even. Things like Metroid Prime and F-Zero are nothing like their predecessors. Zelda? Not necessarily either. They've fallen in quality, maybe. But none of the 3D Zelda games are anything like OoT or MM and none of their "traditional" Zelda games are anything like ALttP. Mario? Aside from NSMB and maybe Mario Kart. Most of them are hardly alike unless they're sequels, and even then most of them play differently as well. Have you actually played anything by Nintendo outside of the two most "rehashed" series? And even if they were "rehashes" it's not like it matters since they're still enjoyable and well polished.

Smash Bros. Devs were busy with Kid Icarus and had barely just started development after March 2011. New Mario should be out pretty soon as well since the last one was 3D Land back in 2011. There's the Zelda HD remake coming out as well for those people who want something to play while the actual new Zelda game is in development. There's also the fact that they had to get all of the 3DS stuff out of the way. Either way games take a while to develop and I'm not sure where a lot of the impatience is coming from (Although considering the continued delay of Pikmin and Game & Wario, I can understand it.) On the bright side by June or July there should be a steady release of games going on and they're apparently going to slate for 3D Mario and Mario Kart HD for this fall. I think that the common mistake Nintendo has done the past...decade? is announce games way too early and then turn around and say "the game isn't ready yet" and delay them for a few months - a year. In Skyward Sword's case they announced it in a secret meeting with no trailer so we didn't see the Press get hyped up like they did for their other game reveals. By the time they showed it off the E3 after, they had already known a new Zelda was coming. So why get hyped?
Most people who've dealt with Nintendo in the past should know the way it is by now when it comes to droughts. Whether or not the EA thing is because of the little "origin" story or the horrid sales they got for throwing out half assed ports (aside from NFSMW) is yet to be known. But considering the horrid sales of those games and the bad reception they got from Wii U owners (Full priced games when other consoles got them half off, bad ports in general), they probably won't be missed.
They are trying to justify not releasing sports game on the Wii U now:
"Ten months ago FIFA 13 was a launch title on Wii U. Although the game featured FIFA's award-winning HD gameplay and innovative new ways to play, the commercial results were disappointing. We have decided not to develop FIFA 14 on Wii U." - EA spokesperson
They didn't mention that the FIFA Wii U port was awful.
Not gonna lie seems like a good move business wise, with the console moving to the next generation, Wii-U support is only going to hinder and complicate development. The Wii-U numbers also seem like a wasted effort with the current AAA costs.

While this could be a good argument for Frostbyte 3 games, games that are slated for the PS3 and 360 such as Madden 25, does not.
