• Disk usage at full 100%

Since Monday my disk usage has been a full 100%, i didn't touch or do anything to the inside of my harddrive or hardware, it just sunddely happened. Does anyone know a good cleaning system or something to fix this? I tried fragmenting and scanning but nothings working.
Start>all programs>accessories>system tools>Disk cleanup then download ccleaner and run it
I'd be more worried about finding what caused that, first. There are some viruses which aim to fill your hard drive with useless junk data, so that is the thing that springs to mind when you say you didn't do anything to it to get such a high disk usage (unless I misunderstand what you're saying) Download malwarebytes and scan, then you can run Disk cleanup and ccleaner as Yucan Sam mentioned
i ran a AVG scan, found nothing, so im just cleaning and fragmenting everything. [editline]18th April 2012[/editline] Ok so im cleaning up stuff and its still 100% I remembered that a file was corrupted, don't remember which one but it asked for a checkdisk, and rebooted my PC. That's when it started. It wasn't a virus because AVG would pick it up instantly.

Open an administrative command prompt and type this: vssadmin.exe resize shadowstorage /for=C: /on=C: /maxsize=4G
Good news! I had an update from windows to download something, probably a security update, I rebooted my computor, ran a fragment check with Smart defrag. YOU HAVE OVER 30,000 FRAGMENTS, WOULD YOU LIKE TO DEFRAG THEM NOW? I defraged it over night and when i checked it this morning the disk wasn't at full 100% anymore, its back to 4%. Im gonna try to play some games when i get home.
Defragging doesn't delete things just re-arranges them, Check C:\windows\Temp Show hidden files http://www.jam-software.com/freeware/ treesize shows you the files from big to small
So what should i do, start deleteing shit? Because i don't think i want to delete system 32.
I thought it's fixed
No, and i went to office depot and it might be a hard drive failure and i found some viruses so im cleaning out my computer of them, if not, well, ill have to get a new hard drive.
No it isn't office depot is just trying to sell you shit just reformat C:\Windows\System32\Temp is where windows stores a bunch of it's updates but doesn't delete them on XP What is the size of your drive? You might want to get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236210 or delete some steam games you don't play often
Steam games isn't the problem. Size of drive is 30Gb, not that much considering its a few years old. And if im gonna reformat I don't have a windows XP CD key.
