[quote] Tony Blair has said that he feels so "passionate" about blocking a hard Brexit that he is considering a return to front-line politics. The former Prime Minister said that Theresa May is on course for a landslide majority and suggested that Jeremy Corbyn stands no chance of becoming Prime Minister. He said that he wants to add a "new dimension" to the election by encouraging voters to support candidates who do not back a hard Brexit, even if they are Liberal Democrat or Tory. Stranger things have happened
Why do I get this sinking feeling that if Corbyn looses Blare will rejoin the party and stand in a leadership election?

But after his fuckup with the Iraq war I dunno if people would really wind up being up for him returning to labour. Not an impossibility tho
I hear a lot of people talking about the death of Labour recently, which is a pretty scary prospect, frankly. Labour's survived periods of 'unelectable' leadership before- we're not even halfway to the last Tory streak of 18 years, since we're only at 7 so far (and 5 of those were in a coalition). If Labour disappears, there is essentially no replacement. The Liberal Democrats are a centre-left party at most, and the Greens are extraordinarily unlikely to receive any success from the NIMBY attitude of most Brits, especially in rural areas. With the possibility of an independent Scotland, it feels like lefties in the UK are, to be honest, fucked.

This snap election is kind of just strangling the baby in the cradle tho

Serious period of failing to capture the zeitgest after the GFC which it will take a long time to recover from

The nordic states are still going strong without any real threats to their welfare states. The SPD are really strong in Germany right now, Podemos in spain, etc..
Is UK politics just a revolving door at this point Next, Margaret Thatcher will announce her consideration to run again, then Churchill will win the seat, then William the Conqueror.
