I am looking for a PC build within the range of $1250-$1500. I will be mainly using it for gaming, and 3d modeling. I already have an OS, monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Looking to run BF3 on at least high settings, and for the GPU to hold up for at least a year or two.
Thank you

Do you want more suggestions?
I'd appreciate that.

Found this build on public wishlist

And this is the one I made
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=25598988&RandomID=94263741324311520111230085950
Do you want an SSD included in a build?
If you do just tack this on
Corsair Force Series GT CSSD-F120GBGT-BK 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Almost $200 though
$20 off w/ promo code EMCJHHC32, ends 1/2/12 for the hard drive in my public wishlist
20% off w/ promo code EMCJHHC23, ends 1/2/12 for the RAM in my public wishlist
Lol, with such a high budget, now including a SSD would be dumb.
Is getting an Nvidia gtx 580 worth it at this point, and would getting an i5 last me in the long run? Also I wouldn't mind considering a ssd.

I wouldn't get the gtx 580 on that budget
What resolution will you be playing on?
You said you would be 3d modeling, the i7-2600k would be better if you are planning to render things
580x2 is helicopter dicking rights for the next year and a half, tops.
What about Sli-ing two 590's :P
Don't 2x 590's already bust the whole budget?
Don't 2x 590's already bust the whole budget?
2 gtx 590s would be $1400-1500
I have been slowly working on my build but I'm stuck on the motherboard. I went to Fry's Electronics today and a worker there recommended getting this one.

Opinions?

I've got this motherboard myself... it offers everything you could possibly need. Good stuff and totally worth its money.
I say get it.

Uh it's out of stock, but it's obviously good enough
Thank you, also is G. Skill the only recommended brand of RAM by facepunchers, or is there any other good brands.
This is the one I'm looking at:

Doesn't really matter what brand, they're pretty much all the same, but no reason to go with others at this point
Didn't see the edit, why would you get 12gb?
Also that wouldn't work in dual channel you would need 2 or 4 sticks
What about Sli-ing two 590's :P
I'm pretty sure two 580s is better price/performance than two 590s. 590s are actually kind of a gimmick.
Which would be better, the GTX 570 or GTX 560 TI?
Which would be better, the GTX 570 or GTX 560 TI?
What resolution will you be playing on?
The GTX 570 is slightly better than the gtx 560 ti
if you have 1680x1050 I would get gtx 560 ti twin frozr II or 6950 1gb

I don't plan on playing games at that high of a resolution. Which Nvidia card would last me in the long run.
Also, here is the current build.

Your shopping cart is empty, just take a screenshot.

In order for us to see the wishlist you have to put this
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=
and after the equal sign put the numbers that are in your wishlist
If you aren't going to be playing on 1680x1050 a gtx 560 ti will be overkill and gtx 570 even more overkill, so go with 6850 1gb or just go with the gtx 560ti anyways

You don't need to pay that much for a motherboard if you aren't sli-ing
get this one instead
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157271
You don't need 12gb either just get 8gb, get 8 more gb later if you really need, but if you MUST have it go ahead
You still haven't told me what resolution your monitor is...

No games even benefit from 8gb.., only need for 16gb is if you are virtualising and multi tasking to the extreme

Is there any reason not to get 16GB of ram? Its really really cheap, and his budget is $1500.
