If I were to get a new cooler (More specifically an air cooler) my budget would be 100$, as I would want optimum performance and overclocking.
i7 930.
EVGA x58 sli board.
Antec 1200 case.
I'm not asking what would be my best "Bang for the buck"
I want to know that under 100$ what will cool my CPU the absolute best.
So far what looks good.
NH-U12P
NH-D14
Ultra-120

I know those are good. But they are large & you'll have to check if it will fit in the case.
Noctua are usually good aswell

Read reviews before buying too.
Heatsinks a lot of the time are just opinionated, I like a nice sleek looking one rather than a big 'in your face' one.

I don't care how it looks at all (Unless it has blindingly annoying leds.)
However I've read through 15-20 reviews so far and I've been unable to find a single one that isn't terribly biased.

I see, well those coolers I know are fairly good, and sleek. Look into those brands a little more but really if all you're looking for is a low temperature then anything will do.
A lot of expensive coolers are expensive because they use different methods of sound dampening, to make them quieter, if you're not looking for that or shape/style/brand then basicly they're all the same.

I happen to know that you are incorrect. Try getting the same OC with a hyper 212+ vs a CM V10.
They are not the same at all. Thus this thread.

I'd guess you'd pick up on that point. You know what I mean though right?

To some degree, however I do know a fair share about the topic of PC cooling, however I would rather have facepunch point out an error I made in choosing than spend 100$ on a sub par cooler.
