• Can I use 2 different internet connections on a single computer?

I know you've probably heard this question before, but this one has a unique twist. I have a landline connection, and a mobile dongle and I would like to use the Ethernet connection to seed torrents, while using the mobile dongle to browse the internet. Is there a way to do this from a single PC? (bandwidth is not a problem on either connections)
Quick search on Google gave me a thread on something about this. I've quoted one of the answers below. There's plenty more if you just search and look a little.
You can set the computer up with two connections and manually switch over from one to the other. One you cannot do is use both connections simultaneously. Windows will always use the first gateway it finds and ignore any others.
Thanks man, I tried searching but I was curious if there was any difference to using a Ethernet connection, and a wireless connection, as opposed to 2x ethernet connections.
I find wireless connections tend to choke up when streaming videos or playing online games. Ethernet i have no problems.
You must be doing something wrong. My computer is wirelessly connected to my router, and I can stream video and play online games fine.
My wireless can host a Minecraft server, Netflix, online games, and such all at the same time. No problems. Nothing fancy either, only Wireless G. :smug: He must either have a pretty shit router or very poor wireless signal.
I had a d-link 655, yeah it was pretty bad. :v:
You can bridge both connections together and use both at the same time, but you can't assign specific internet connections to specific tasks unless you do something like run a virtual machine and have the phone setup to be the internet source for it rather than the ethernet on the computer.

Thanks!
