So my ecs motherboard half died about 4 weeks ago; anytime their was ram in the 2nd ram slot, the motherboad wouldn't post. both sticks worked in the first slot and no other configuration including the second slot worked. I got back a fixed/refurbished motherboard, and I can tell it's not the same one I sent in cuz it didn't have some of the small scratches on the stickers, and was branded with a "QA" sticker and different fastener for the pciex16 slot. But waddaya know, same problem. as long as there's a stick of ram in the 2nd slot, it says no fuck you and doesn't post. questions: Haven't looked it up but is it possible the memory controller on the cpu is screwed up? both sticks of ram work in the first slot perfectly, so it's not a ram problem, correct? did they just mess up and send me a shafted motherboard? I'd find it odd that a whole other motherboard has the same problem...
