• Metroid Prime 2 (Gamecube) Color Issue

Hey there FP. Just got my Gamecube out for some classic Metroid Prime action. Problem is, Metroid 2 has decided to display in a completely strange way for my HDTV, where everything has a horrible yellow tint to it, ruining all the color. (It's 32" if that makes any difference, though I assume it has something to do with it being a HDTV) My other games work perfectly fine, including Metroid Prime 1, so I have no idea what's causing the issue. Here's a shitty webcam pic to show you exactly what the problem is: Those of you who have played Prime 2 will know the Dark Suit looks nothing like that. The fuck is going on?
Would be nice if you could give us some more usefull information. What version of the Gamecube + Game are you using (NTSC or PAL) and what cable did you use to connect your console to the TV (component, RGB, regular composite). As far as i remember correctly, MP2 Echoes was a game which only runs in 60Hz mode even on PAL consoles.
I think I may have figured out the issue, slightly. As said above, Metroid Prime 2 only displays in 60hHz mode on the PAL version (which I have) and I'm using a scart lead as standard with the Gamecube. I'm also using a PAL Gamecube. I tried out Resident Evil 0 and set it to 60Hz mode with the same blue and yellow result. My problem is that my TV works fine with 60Hz on my Xbox 360, so why not with my cube. Do I try connecting the cables from the Scart directly to the TV like my Xbox wires are? Or is there something I'm missing? Throw the gamecube out.
Well I think I have this figured now. My TV autodetects the display it's supposed to be using, so I don't have to set it myself. Unfortunately for me it's setting itself to an NTSC 50Hz display instead of a regular PAL 60Hz. Meaning I get stuck with this horrible display. Problem is my TV offers no way to manually change the aspect ratio using the remote. This isn't good.
God Dammit. You just reminded me I never beat that game.
Isn't that supposed to be the hardest of the Prime trilogy to beat?
Isn't that supposed to be the hardest of the Prime trilogy to beat?
Supposedly, but I gotta tell you it's even harder to beat when your TV has a vendetta against you and the game.
Isn't that supposed to be the hardest of the Prime trilogy to beat?
It's hard as shit. But I beat it like a boss. :smug:
Isn't that supposed to be the hardest of the Prime trilogy to beat?
Emperor. Fucking. Ing.
You should get a Gamecube RGB cable, this will solve the issue. Also all the other games will look better when using a RGB cable.
Just play with the RGB levels on your TV. Seems that the reds aren't showing up (the suit should have more orange and brown in it. Almost looks like the light suit :v:)
