I am looking to purchase a new laptop.
I will be looking to do the following:
Medium-to-heavy gaming
Light Photoshopping
School work
Skype video chatting, so a good cam and mic are necessary
A good battery life (at least 5 hrs)
Light in weight. Something around 4lbs (~2kgs)
At least a 13" screen but nothing larger than 15"
I am looking for something around $750 give or take a few bucks.

lol no
OP should see something with HD 5650/6550/GT 540M at least
Are i7s that much better than i5s? I know they're both quad cores, but if I get an i5 would it still be powerful enough?

Also, is this a good choice or can I get a better one for that much money?

OR this one? Having a good webcam is very important to me as I am moving out of state for school and want to keep in touch with family and friends while I am away with Skype. This one has a 1.3MP HD webcam. I know I can just purchase a separate webcam if I really wanted to, but I'd much rather have the convenience of the integrated webcam.

The problem with i7 processors are their habit to eat the battery life a lot, also to heat up a lot. They are not made well for a laptop.
The ASUS is a good choice, though I don't know the difference between the A serie and the N serie.

You gotta pay attention to get the good deals.
I'm thinking about getting this one. I currently own a Dual Core 2GHz Macbook, 13" .. And I love the size and weight of it. I've had enough of the apple pricing bullshit, I mean it's a great laptop still, and I personally prefer OSX over windows, but no way am I paying $1200 for the basic macbook pro, or $1000 for a 11" netbook dubbed macbook air.
So I found this. It fits everything that I want out of a laptop. It's pretty much the perfect laptop, coming in for just under $700. I just thought I'd run it by you guys first

I was actually looking at the reviews for this laptop and some reviews mentioned something about CPU throttling and it getting in the way of gaming. I wasn't so sure as to what that means, can someone explain it to me, and is there a way of getting around it?
Throttling means it slows down the CPU/GPU when the temps get too high. Basically you can get a slow FPS for a short moment (and possibly several times) when gaming.

Laptops like the ASUS N series, for example, don't have this problem because they have a great silent fan which always give low temps.
So let's say I am playing TF2 or GTA IV or something for an hour, will I be able to enjoy the games or will the fps be really bad? Also, can this feature be turned off?
It's to prevent your CPU / GPU from dying, obviously you can't shut it off without voiding warranty (if even possible). You shouldn't get a laptop for gaming, GTA IV is very heavy on the CPU, so you are not going to run that very well.

Right but I want to game for about an hour a day, and I would have no use for a desktop PC because I need to carry my computer with me to lectures and the library and such.
Right, but I already answered your question.
GTA IV on a laptop is a no no. TF2 should be fine though.
ADT you recommend an Asus N series laptop? I was looking into the G53 for the longest time (or a sager equivalent).
update: I took your advice and found this amazing deal! (I'm canadian btw) <3 thanks :)
