oh no! videogame trade secrets!
Zenimax’s suit tells a version of a story that begins in April 2012, with Carmack’s befriending of the “college-age” Palmer Luckey. Luckey had built a prototype VR headset Zenimax now describe as “primitive” - missing a headmount, integrated motion sensors and other “critical features”.
Oh no Carmack took the videogame trade secrets of motion sensors and head mounts! Someone please save us all!
John Carmack is a trade secret now?
What, is he going to be a fucking patent by Monday?

If anyone is smart then they'll try to patent Carmack - he's a programming genius.
And, once again, funny how this didn't happen when Carmack left for upstart Kickstarter-darling Oculus with its millions. Only when daddy Facebook and gobs of billions is on the scene.
I guess we can assume that TESO won't be on Rift anytime soon. :v:

One that left because Zenimax didn't give a shit about him. They only care now because they want daddy Facebook's money.
I really hate what id and zenimax has really become.
id is practically nothing what it used to be, and most of the influential talent has left.
Which worries me for the new Doom.

IIRC the original rift's head mount was a pair of cut up snowboard goggles, Zeni's just talking out their ass to try and make a case :v:
