It's also not running right.
For like, a lot of people.
I didn't realise it was out already in the US. Firing up the VPN right this second
I really like what they've done with 2033 Redux and would gladly play it over the original. That being said however I feel like most people should hold off on purchasing it until the multitude of minor bugs are patched.

Haven't tried LL Redux but that should be fine.
I've booted it up and had no problems at all with it, I can run it full with SSA turned off on my GTX770
i really want this too bad m pc is a toaster

What would you say are the important changes that made the purchase worthwhile?

Metro Last Light ran at like 20-30 fps for me
on a 780 gtx and i7-4770k with 16 gigs of ram

I'm really liking the visual upgrade. Some say that it's too bright and colorful for an apocalyptic game but I personally don't mind. The new cutscene transitions are a nice touch, and some of the old awkward ones are replaced or scrapped entirely. There are also new challenge areas in some of the stations, hidden safes and stashes on the surface and in bandit hideouts, etc.
With LL's gunplay and stealth the game is much better imo. I know that there are some people who find LL's stealth to be too easy though so it may not be your cup of tea. However, the level layouts from the old games help to make things more difficult.
The continuity feels better. Khan's voice actor from the 2nd game is here and if you look carefully you can spot a younger version of the 2nd game's antagonist.
I don't know if anyone else agrees, I play games on a laptop for convenience of portability and the best way to keep gfx high and gameplay smooth is always shadows. Turn them down since you probably aren't going to be looking at shadows all the time anyway
I heard Redux runs better than the original. Is it true?
Oh also, the frustrating amoeba section was altered a bit. You won't be facing infinite amoebas because each egg sac will now only spawn one, and Miller fires his volt driver rapid-fire during the sequence so he's much better at defending himself.
With regards to continuity, if you know how LL ends then you'll be in for a nice treat once you get a look at 2033 Redux's main menu. The new journal entries are interesting and help explain why Artyom joined the Rangers in LL as well as other things.
NPCs now have access to a conversation pool from which they draw random stories to tell. It helps make the stations feel more alive. Even after you've stopped to listen to all the conversations in an area, new ones can still begin. One drawback with this feature is that you might see an npc change voice actors multiple times for different stories which can be jarring.
Okay this all sounds really good and I'm looking forward to getting 2033 Redux but I still can't even run Last Light.
Hell 2033 itself still runs at only like 30fps on medium, medium-high with like 2 or 4x AA and no PhysX.
[sp] I'm an enthusiast graphics-phile on an entry-level budget ;-; [/sp]
*If you can launch it.
Compared the 2 benchmarks. Metro 2033 runs the same, if not slightly better than 2033 Redux on the same (or very similar) settings for me.
FX 6100 4.0GHz, Radeon HD 7870 GHz edition, 8GB DDR3 1600MHz.
on the original 2033 with dx11 settings on i'd get less than 30 fps most of the time (gtx 770, i5 2500k) but with the dx11 settings turned off it would get up to 120 fps in places
2033 redux looks leaps and bounds better than the original 2033 and runs at a steady 50+ fps for me on the same rig
Metro 2033 Redux runs so much better.
Just with the graphics menu had more options but I can run it maxed with SSA off so w/e.
XBOX ONE MASTERRACE
NO CRASHES AND NEXT GEN 920p RESOLUTION
Runs like butter on my laptop
metro 2033 Redux crashes instantly on startup for me, surely I can't be the only one? :suicide:
Launched right up for me, I played the first chapter just fine.
Game is getting a patch in a few hours.
Metro 2033 ran great for me but LL ran like unplayable shit. I'm on a GTX 650.

It's something on your end then because i could run the game at max with like 45 fps with 8gb of ram, a core i5 and a 670.
Now im running an i7 and can run the game on all max with above 60fps.
