Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) -- Gunmen intercepted a vehicle carrying salaries of Iraqi government employees in western Baghdad and made off with nearly $600,000, police officials told CNN on Sunday.
The robbers attacked the vehicle a few hundred meters from a local bank, where it had been loaded with money, police said.
Police officials said it appeared that the gunmen, who stole about 700 million Iraqi dinars, were monitoring the truck and may have had assistance from someone working at the bank or government employees.
Iraqi security forces are investigating the incident. Police said no one was injured in the heist.
Authorities have said they believe insurgents have used similar recent robberies to fund their military operations.
Oh shit
Let's hope that money is just gonna fund some extravagant fantasies and not terrorism or the insurgency :ohdear:
But that takes stones either way :golfclap:

Well fuck, rate me bad reading.
Well that's shit, kinda odd though that they didn't hurt anyone, woulda thought the insurgents would have shot the government officials for helping the coalition.

Well it's not all too much of a bad reading. They said that's how insurgents pay for a lot, but they don't know exactly who did this. It might of been insurgents, but it might not of either.
great, iraQ is going to become the next mexico. But, instead of cartels, it will be insurgents running the government as they seem to be more tactful and stronger than their government.

This is Iraq, not Iran.
Also, Iran is already ran by a fucking insane terrorist.

This isn't Iran.
And if the Iranian government wanted to do this they could have sent an entire infantry regiment to do so and used enough explosive to churn the entire road into a jagged field of black tarmac and asphalt.
These dudes are small time, they ain't got shit on that guy who robbed a bank with a potted plant :colbert:
