My AMD Phenom II X4 945 (deneb 45nm technology no clue if thats needed but whatever) is running at an average of 43-45 C on idle. In speccy, the number is yellow. Is that bad? If so, what would you suggest I do about it? I've had the processor since March, and just noticed it. Maybe I should clean it out with air or something as well? Has there been any damage done?
It's not bad. Put the computer on load and check temps. Check heatsink for dust and clean.
Ive had my Phenom II x4 945 running at 60+ for the past 6 months, I have just got an arctic cooler which has knocked it down to ~45 degrees. Nothing adverse has happened to mine.
The number being yellow isn't bad from what I can tell. It's just yellow to differentiate the temps from the rest of the info. All 4 temps on my page are yellow. And your temp is fine. Mine is idling at 46 Celsius right now. Edit: Yeah, I don't think the yellow is a bad thing. Here's an official screeny and their temp is yellow: http://www.piriform.com/speccy/screenshots/screen/speccy1.png

Played a round of squad deathmatch in BFBC2 and got an average temperature of 52-54 C. Sound good? [editline]28th December 2010[/editline] I'm letting OCCT cool down now, I ran it for 1 minute (good enough?) It ran to about 58.5 C and looked like it was climbing (albeit slowly) Hopefully that's cool.
