Behold, another wrapper for YouTube. I'm sick of these guys trying to cash in on other people's talent.

Yeah, how dare they share good content with people. I would so much better off not knowing that video existed if the article hadn't been posted.
Journalism has always been about cashing in on other people's talent.

Don't pretend it's altruistic. I would have found out about good content regardless - word of mouth is how I've found out about most of the channels I've subscribed to.
I'm sure you would have, but you're not the hundreds or thousands of other people who read the article and wouldn't have known otherwise.

And as stated in the article, they got this news from PCGamer anyway.
I'm all for them spreading content as long as they shut off ads for the respective pages. Making ad revenue off of other people's content is bullshit. That's the problem I have with it.

I see where you're coming from, but we both know that's not an option. Journalists make money on articles no matter what the subject is, and most people, and creators, will have no problem with that. It's only the news after all.

It's only the news after all. It's only :clickbait:.
I don't support lazy journalism. I don't support reposts with a half-assed summary of the video content. That takes no effort. It's a cashgrab.
Like I said, curtailing content is fine as long as no money is made from that content, or the curtailing is done in a way that some like me couldn't easily do. Like, perhaps an article about all of the winter-themed fan videos and the developers' responses would be nice, because that isn't just pasting an embedded video and saying, "Well it's about this."

this ain't news, its human interest at best
