For the third straight day, more than 40 firefighting teams are working to contain and extinguish a blaze that is spreading with the aid of strong winds toward Sha'ar Hagai and the village of Neve Ilan in the Jerusalem area. Concurrently, additional fires have broken out in Haifa and other areas in the north leading to evacuations and damages.

In an effort to help Israel contain the fires cropping up throughout the country, four firefighting aircraft arrived from Cyprus and Greece, while additional aircraft are also expected to arrive from Russia, Italy and Croatia.

Meanwhile, additional fires broke out in Haifa Bay, Hadera, Kibbutz Harel near Beit Shemesh, Umm al-Fahm and the forest near Yuvalim and Misgav in the north of the country.
A few days of very strong and very dry winds ave apparently been perfect for spreading fires all over the country. It started with forest fires, but now new fires are breaking out all over cities like Haifa.
Any news about palestine fires? if fires break out there there wont be a professional firefighting crew stopping it...
i didnt know israel had anything combustible
There are confirmations that these are arson attacks.
If this is true, terrorists got themselves a new way to kill people and cause panic without getting caught.

The Israelis will do it most likely.
The Israelis will do it most likely.
Funny. Meanwhile the Haifa fire department has confirmed that all four of the seperate fires now burning in Haifa are the result of intentional arsons, including one intentionally started right next to the Haifa fire department itself.
And while I'm writing this several more fires have been started in and around several more Israeli cities and towns.

Palestinian cities do have professional firefighters, Scotland even donated a few old fire engines.

~60,000 people have been evacuated from Haifa so far.
My Arab friend suggested we should "hang all the Arabs", and the man next to us agreed with him. I think he wasn't in on the joke.
EDIT: Oh god it says I'm from France what the hell, I'm not a frog
It sucks to see that this is happening to the only decent country in ME.
Stay safe fellow Israeli fpers.
oy vey someone quickly put out these anti semitic fires.

I realize the positivity of your message, but saying Israel is the only decent country in the Middle East is a tad ignorant.

I'm not too educated on the middle east, but as far as I know Jordan and Kuwait are quite moderate compared to others.
But I agree with the sentiment, yeah, I hope nobody else suffers from the fires.
150+ injuries already. 60,000 evacuated in Haifa alone.
I wonder if this will lead to war or not.

No, it's actually a fairly true statement.
Do tell me though, what other countries would you find to be 'decent' there?
So far 75,000 people have been evicted from Haifa, including my parents who are now staying with us.
Our own mayor reported on his facebook page that since the morning they've found and stopped several attempts to start fires around the city.

Oh man... scary. We all know who are behind this.
Some of my family lives in Haifa... better start placing phone calls, I suppose.

Radical Orthodox Jews, probably. /s

Obviously this is a Mossad inside job and we will soon see Greater Israel restored to its 3000 years old glory. Now that ISIS (also a Mossad job) is on its hind legs, Bibi will execute swift manoeuvring to take over the entire Middle East.
Silly goys, say goodbye to your oil!
Disclaimer: I am not French, I come from Israel, but Facepunch is obviously anti-Semitic since they branded me a frog.

I guess being one of the most hated countries in the region will do that.
Fuck 'em, we survived worse than that.
This is terrible news!
I hope that this ends soon and that not a lot of people get hurt.
Saying Palestine hasnt got any fire brigade is such a ridicilous claim I couldnt find any sources that explicitly say "No, its got one." But see:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_the_Palestinian_National_Authority
So no.
Professional fire brigades are paid for in wages by the government, the trucks are government owned and all the gear is supplied by the government, voluntary fire brigades are fire brigades funded/supported by the government in part but staffed with voluntary workers.
Often the latter is an emergency or supplementary fire brigade, helping out when shit really hits the fan, but also often working with loaned material and housing. Sometimes even "bring your own equipment and gear".
Palestine does not have professional fire brigades, they are completely voluntary due to the amount of political mess the area is for so long, therefore if some big fire would hit them they would be less coordinated, trained and equipped to handle it then Israel.
The fact they were donated a fire truck only makes me more convinced my original thought that its completely voluntary departments.
tldr; oy vey
