[release]
Murder Games Removed From Store Shelves After Utøya-massacre
[t]http://static.vg.no/uploaded/image/bilderigg/2011/07/29/1311946062286_424.jpg[/t] VIOLENT: Anders Behring Breivik supposedly played the computer game "World of Warcraft" Coop Norge and Platekompaniet have removed violent video games from store shelves after the terror attacks in Oslo and on Utøya last week. - We have made our evaluations in each department, and removed various games around, confirms product manager, André Holt, to NTB. Anders Behring Breivik writes in his so-called Manifesto that he played World of Warcraft for one year. Of consideration for the Friday's, Coop Norway indefinitely revoked violent video games and weapons-like products, says Geir Inge Stokke to rogalandsavis.no. - This is a temporary grip we do out of respect and in respect for those affected, said Stokke. The electronics retailer Spaceworld has not removed any products from their shelves. - We can not see any connection between the tragedy and the fact that we sell games. We have never seen any research on that games alone lead to such incidents, says marketing manager Carl Haakon Klafstad to NTB. [/release] [release]The games removed are: -Call of Duty: Black Ops -Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 -Call of Duty: World at War Platinum -Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Classic -Sniper Ghost Warrior -Counter-Strike Source -World of Warcraft -Homefront [/release] Sources: http://www.itavisen.no/874728/disse-spillene-fjernes-fra-hyllene http://www.vg.no/nyheter/innenriks/oslobomben/artikkel.php?artid=10081059 so stupid
World of Warcraft sure is horrifically violent, thank goodness they removed it in time. This will surely stop any kind of violence in its tracks.
What about GTA? As in, the only one with relevance.
WoW is a murder simulator?
Because as we all know, teenagers and kids have no other way of obtaining these games outside of stores
WoW is a murder simulator?
Yes. It trains you into a warrior killing machine.
They still sell CS:S retail?
Oh boy here we go, time to play another round of "WATCH THE MEDIA BLAME VIDEOGAMES FOR VIOLENCE"
WoW is a murder simulator?
Apparently lol. I think Breivik mentions something about how he gets an "immense amount of satisfaction" when defeating bosses in his manifesto. Funny thing is, he mostly used WoW to make his amount of planning in front of the computer less suspicious, as it's a generally a social-taboo. A coverup in other words.
They still sell CS:S retail?
Yeah, seen it bundled with DoD:S.
[release]The games removed are: -Call of Duty: Black Ops -Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 -Call of Duty: World at War Platinum -Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Classic -Sniper Ghost Warrior -Counter-Strike Source -World of Warcraft -Homefront [/release]
today is a great day friends
They still sell CS:S retail?
I've never seen it but I've bought HL2 and Episodes at retail.
Murloc Murder Simulator
Hurrdurr videogames made him kill people. The fact that's he a fucking psycho to begin with has nothing to do with it at all.
I think taking WoW off shelves will cause more shooting sprees as crazed addicts lose their last grip on sanity
This is just retarded.
edit- they didnt quite ban em. still that's unnecessary
Didn't Breivik admit that he was just talking shit and used an excuse that he was into games so no one would notice or care that he wasn't around anymore.
uh, what the fuck?
YOU HAVE MANDATORY MILITARY SERVICE FOR ALL MALES
seriously what the fuck r u doing norway [editline]30th July 2011[/editline] that's like training for 9 years doing parkour, and then crediting Assassins creed for your success.
today is a great day friends
What's wrong with Modern Warfare Classic?
The fact that's he a fucking psycho to begin with has nothing to do with it at all.
Yes you might get dealt some psycho ass genes when you get born, but the life you live, the shit you get exposed to, adds up like no other inside your mind which builds up people for who they become. Something like that. Requiring more research on brain. And yes, banning videogames altogether causes nothing but uproar among the rest of the people
I'm surprised GTA isn't removed
today is a great day friends
...no it isn't
Read the fucking article you idiots, the games weren't "banned," some retailers voluntarily took them off shelves temporarily out of respect
It seems they've removed all the games that he cited as playing in his manifesto.
Knew that this would happen when he mentioned he played MW2's No Russian level to quell his conscience for killing civillians.
Read the fucking article you idiots, the games weren't "banned," some retailers voluntarily took them off shelves temporarily out of respect
well nevertheless that's a bad move for a business.
Ah yes, moral panic. When they can't find a reason they blame the "nuclear whipping boy" of the media industry. Honestly, whoever's bashing video games for no good reason should be whipped themselves, as their whipping of the video game industry is completely unjustified.
It's only temporary. It's not a permanent ban of those games, and it isn't even a nation-wide ban. Still want those games? Go to another shop.
This is a temporary grip we do out of respect and in respect for those affected, said Stokke.
damn ninja'd
