Warner Bros. is about to bring together two of its most iconic heroes: Superman and Batman will unite in a new film, the follow-up to “Man of Steel,” set for release in 2015. According to two sources with knowledge of the movie, Warner Bros. intends to announce the news at its Comic-Con International panel Saturday morning. Said a Warner Bros. spokesperson, “We don’t comment on rumors regarding these properties.” “Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder is expected to reunite with screenwriter David S. Goyer and star Henry Cavill for the new film. It’s unlikely Christian Bale will step back into the bat suit, as the actor has indicated publicly that he has moved on from his days as Bruce Wayne. “Man of Steel” producer and “Dark Knight” trilogy director Christopher Nolan is expected by some to produce the project, but the exact nature of his involvement is unclear. The move marks the culmination of years of effort on the part of Warner Bros. and DC Comics to bring their superheroes together in a similar fashion to their primary competitor Marvel, which successfully combined its superheroes into a $1.5-billion box-office hit with “The Avengers.” In the comic world, the two heroes are teaming up in a new series, “Batman/Superman,” by writer Greg Pak and artist Jae Lee. – Nicole Sperling
http://herocomplex.latimes.com/movies/comic-con-2013-superman-batman-movie-will-follow-man-of-steel/ BRACE YER SELVES LADS.
We'll have to see if this combo works out on the silver screen; Nolan's Batman is a neat one, but I dunno about his Superman since I haven't watched Man of Steel.
"Gotta keep 'em separated" -The Offspring
If I recall correctly the cartoons of this were pretty rad. I guess we'll get to see how they work in live action. Also I think I remember them planning on rebooting Batman for a Justice League movie, so we might be getting that Batman and not Nolan's.
NO. BAD.
Oh well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. I'm sure fans of the Justice League and The World's Finest will be pleased. I prefer to have them separated but I'm part of the minority in the DC fanbase anyway. Oh yes, if you're going to do this, you need a rebooted Batman.
Don't understand why people didn't expect something like this [sp] A Wayne Manor satellite is shown during the fight between Zod and Supes [/sp]
That's awesome, another movie I'll make sure to avoid

All I know regarding easter eggs is that [sp]They were fighting on top of a building belong to Lex Luthor at one point and that's where Zodd left his armor.[/sp]

No Bale, no sale.
Another cash grab by Hollywood, what a surprise
Well seeing how Superman's last two movies were horrible failures they at least have to try a group effort.

There is also a Lexcorp building and truck featured.
Well seeing how Superman's last two movies were horrible failures they at least have to try a group effort.
While Man of Steel had a less than stellar critical reception, its box office success went really well. However, for me anyway, there isn't any guarantees that the World's Finest movie will be written and directed well yet.
What the fuck. Man of Steel was fucking godlike, I can't believe they're ruining the franchise like this already. They need to do the same thing Marvel did and produce a trilogy followed with a Justice League film, not pull this shit too soon.
I never really understood how you can really pair these two up. They're completely different, not just in personality, origin and powers, but in sheer scale. Batman is a street level super hero, while Superman is more of a planetary, and sometimes even galactic one.
Considering Man of Steel was a total mess, I can't really bring myself to be the least bit excited for this.

Why? Worlds Finest existed for years, there was even a two part episode in the DCAU that if i recall was really good involving the two teaming up, called "Worlds Finest" I mean yeah it depends on how its done, but why are you freaking out at the idea? Its been done before.

Aka, the Batgod syndrome some bad writers and fans like to think/write about.

[editline]20th July 2013[/editline] In the comics he's come up with countermeasures against the entire Justice League that have been found and used against them and nearly killed them all, if im right.
As long as they don't use Nolan's Batman, I'm fine, that guy was nowhere near World's Greatest Detective
I didn't think the Man of Steel was that bad. But then again, this is FP where everybody is supercritical about everything and nothing is good unless it's Valve.
As long as they don't use Nolan's Batman, I'm fine, that guy was nowhere near World's Greatest Detective
Nolan Batman really sucked at his job. THE JOKER beat the shit out of him.
Lost the will to live with these franchise plans... Just remaster the good ones in 4K and we'll be good thx movie companies.
I am totally down for this. I liked Man of Steel, and I enjoyed the Batman trilogy. For the most part. The only problem I have with this is the reboot of Bats, because first of all if they're going to reboot him entirely, then I guess they could have a movie out before this, but I haven't heard anything about it and if they don't then it'll be weird and Batman will just be a sort of generic character with no real identity. Second of all if they stick with the Nolan films and just bring in a new actor that'll be weird. Also I really hope that for fuck's sake whoever the new Batman is they better not have him lower his voice and sound like a 70 year old smoker like Bale did. They actually edited that shit to sound like that, like seriously, why would you do that? Would've sounded fine if he just kind of lowered his voice a bit and spoke in a stern tone. I'm hoping it sounds somewhat similar to Kevin Conroy's Batman.
Batman is also a master tactician and one of the smartest men in the DC universe. Pairing these two up works incredibly well, it's just kind of hard to explain. Go watch World's Finest, Public Enemies, and Apocalypse and you'll see what I mean.

Batman doesn't need to have superpowers to out-plan you, and while Superman confronts the problem head-on, Batman will be in the shadows trying to pick apart at the weakpoints and strategies so that Supes or the others can net the victory. And when Batman IS confronted, he's badass enough to hold his own. Hell, one animated movie had Batman threatening Darkseid. When the latter laughed him off, Batman then pointed out that he'd placed explosives on essential parts of Apokolips, and if they detonated, the entire planet that Darkseid ruled would blow up as a result. Darkseid backed down after Batman made his demands of leaving Supergirl alone for that movie. [sp]Darkseid skirted around that wording anyway and attacked Superman instead,[/sp] but the point remains.
