i'm sure a lot of these have been posted, but are old af. basically, games that can run on laptops/toaster setups. incidentally, i don't have a mouse most of the time so i really don't want to have to play games like HL1 with a touchpad because that shit is painful. controller-recommended games are also OK i'll get the ones already on my laptop out of the way: osu! Dwarf Fortress Nullpomino (tetris clone) Lunatic Rave 2 (beatmania clone) TIS-100 The Binding of Isaac Super Meat Boy Dustforce i'm basically dying with my current library. genre doesn't matter, post whatever you think is fun.
Factorio
If you dont mind grinding like a maniac, Disgaea PC. Game's good, though
Return to castle wolfenstein Touhou series Counter strike condition zero
Custer's Revenge
Any Paradox Interactive game
pssh this is nothing compared to BCInteractive's amazing Unity asset flips puts cs:go to shame
Older civilization games.
Mari0, Not Tetris, older Fallout games. Also if you've got a controller, you can set up steam configurations for games like Half-life and be able to play them with a joystick rather than a touchpad.
Duck Game
Shovel Knight
Axiom Verge.
Lakeview Cabin Collection
Post your specs, my man.
Spore
Risk of Rain. I regularly played it on Atom tablets so you should have no issues.
Cook, serve, delicious!
FTL has been my go to for passing time during transit for 4 years now.
Nuclear Throne
DoomRL
Wasteland 2. Or a turn based strategy game like Endless Legend (I imagine it should run good enough on a toaster). Also, steam summer sale should be coming this month. If you don't mind, I suggest you wait to buy anything until then.
Duck Game
Exactly what I was going to suggest. The game's especially fun when you've got friends to play with either IRL or in voice chat. I would also suggest Hyper Light Drifter, if you're interested in playing a singleplayer game with some exploration and action. I heard that it's good to use a controller with that game (And you may need to since the game requires a mouse if you're playing on a keyboard).
The original Dungeon Defenders (Not the paid Eternity update). A Mobility 5650 can handle 720p30 medium settings. Sorry, when i think "Couch games", i automatically default to split screen with up to four friends
Tales Of Maj'Eyal is a pretty good roguelike. IDK how well it plays with a regular gamepad but it works great with my Steam Link + Controller. I did have to change the UI scale setting to see it better from my couch tho.
Osmos
Can't go wrong with some Unreal Tournament 2004.
Can't go wrong with some Unreal Tournament 2004.
He says he doesn't have a mouse most of the time, so I don't know if that would work out well for him considering that the game's all about movement and aim, and you probably wouldn't be able to do that as well with a controller with their joy sticks (Then again, he could try using a Steam controller, but I'm not sure if he has that). Otherwise, yeah, UT2004 and the first UT would be good.
Recettear. Comfy little shop sim where you manage a item shop in your typical RPG setting. You're going to fail a couple times, but its okay; just let it happen and don't stress.
Ys: The Oath in Felghana Doom/Doom II Audiosurf GTA 3/Vice City/San Andreas Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst (via private servers) I could run all of these games off a shitty Averatec All-In-One PC with 1GB RAM and an Intel Atom clocked at 1.6GHz.
Conflict: The Middle East Political Simulator You'll probably be able to run it without much trouble, it not just use dosbox. It's a really great political sim / war game that only takes about twenty minutes to finish, but is randomized a bit so it won't get old too soon. Oh and it only uses the keyboard, so no mouse problems there.
