And the sad part is, is that kinectimals is the only one that was really innovative.
How is Fallout: New Vegas a strategy game? That makes even less sense than half of Call of Duty's awards.
Well this just proves that game awards are silly and nothing to boast about.
[editline]17th February 2011[/editline]
Blizzard: We won Bafta's strategy game award!
Press: Who were you up against?
Blizzard: Er.. New Vegas and Plants vs. Zombies...
[editline]17th February 2011[/editline]
I hope Fallout: NV wins though just for the laughs.
Metro 2033 must be on that list.

A film, but a film with innovative controls. :v:
a sequel and a film?
A sequel which extends and perfects the innovative gravitational aspects of its predecessor, as well as being by far the best looking game on the Wii.

Also, I see the BAFTAs have jumped on the Limbo bandwagon as well. Why not Super Meat Boy?
Most of the awards Black Ops is nominated for aren't actually in any part of the game
/begin_rant
Technical Innovation, first of all, their just using the same engine they used for World at War, just a bit spruced up, nothing special, nothing new, Crysis deserves this award the most, due it's graphical capabilities and of course the amazing features that so many people at Crytek have wasted their hours slaving over a computer to make.
Story, never have I seen such a bad storyline, it's just going through the different periods of time, basically it's Call of Duty 4, 5 and 6 in one game (Since it doesn't visit WW2 (CoD1, 2 & 3))
Use of Audio, there's fuck all good audio in here, it's just different weapon sounds, if that's worth a Bafta i'll go create a flash game using the exact same fucking sounds, and I should get a Bafta award for that :colbert:
Game award of 2010, it's not Game of the Year at all, it never has been since CoD4, and never will be again, because it's just getting to the point where they're putting in pretty, over-powered weapons so the 12 year olds don't moan when they can't kill someone. It should go back to the original CoD, where if you moaned, no-one gave two shits, children ARE NOT welcome in CoD 1 or 2 for the sole reason they get instantly kicked and banned for bringing their blashphemic "OMGEeeez Y CAN U NOT 360 NOSCOPE ON DIS?!1!?!?111one!11" to good 'ole classics.
That's all I have to say.

Utterly agree LuckyLuke. This is a bit like the Grammy nominations for best album, won by Arcade Fire who should have won, but a large majority of people have never actually heard of and were expecting somebody popular to win. Visibility in the public eye has a greater effect on your chance of a nomination than the quality of your game.
And the sad part is, is that kinectimals is the only one that was really innovative.
It was pretty much nintendogs except that it was fun for 30 minutes.

Fun fact:
In black ops, almost all of the weapon sounds and reloading were exactly the same sounds and reloading animations from MW2.
The BAFTA's are a fucking joke.

Doesn't matter, the subject is about technical innovation and not how fun the game is.
Uh. Super Mario Galaxy and Heavy Rain?
Heavy rain was a giant quick time event with a story that had plot holes as big as an elephants anus.
And Super Mario Galaxy wasn't really all that special, I've seen the same gravitational "innovation" in flash games.
Why the FUCK is Black Ops getting fucking awards what the horse dicking christ, it's a fucking mod.

12 Year olds ... :crying:
This is so retarded.

Use of audio should go to Bad Company 2, seriously get some headphones and play BC2.
Plus CoD nominated for more awards than Mass Effect 2? Ruddy BAFTAs

The problem is that everyone on Facepunch hates blackops, but only 20% of the haters have actually played it.
I can't say its a good game- i haven't played it either. But looking at the youtube clips, the story sure beats the hell out of the past 4 games.
Halo: Reach and Limbo definitely deserve an award.
What is with the hate on Black Ops? I don't get it.

Yeah, whenever I play BC2 I get eargasm. :3:
Why isn't DS2 in artistic?
Edit: It's 2010 only? Heh.
the story sure beats the hell out of the past 4 games.
That's really not a challenge. :v: There are countless other games that deserve this award more than Black Ops.
At least Mass Effect 2 is on there.
