Trump executive order: UK ministers to press US on ban
19 replies, posted
Prime Minister Theresa May has told her foreign secretary and home secretary to contact their US counterparts about a travel ban imposed by President Trump.
Boris Johnson and Amber Rudd will make representations about the order barring refugees and visa holders from seven Muslim majority countries for 90 days.
Earlier Mr Johnson tweeted it was "divisive and wrong" to stigmatise people on the basis of nationality.
Mrs May has come under fire for not condemning the order earlier.
After she initially said it was up to the US to decide its policy on refugees, No 10 later issued a statement saying she did "not agree with this kind of approach and it is not one we will be taking" adding that if there was any impact on UK nationals "then clearly we will make representations to the US government about that."
A Conservative MP, Nadhim Zahawi, who was born in Iraq, is among those who have said they would not be able to travel to the US while the temporary ban is in place.

It's affected relatives of mine in the UK, it's fucking ridiculous.
I wonder if this is her realising her mistake or if she's coming under pressure.
If I am being honest... Boris Johnson is still in my eyes a terrible politician, but he seems to have some sense in regards to this and Saudi Arabia.

True, but he also said at the 25th anniversary of the UN-confirmation of my country that Brexit will make UK and EU stronger, so please, I don't think he has any right to even be in politics, let alone being a PM.

Oh yeah, he's still a moron. He's just not a *complete* moron.
If they're UK nationals then they are "from the UK", legally.
Otherwise, this is a matter for the United States. Why do the UK need to interfere?
Oh that's right, I almost forgot. It's because national boundaries should not exist according to the master plan for world corporate domination. "Let's use race to guilt-trip people into opening all their borders and keep pushing for a single world government controlled by whoever thinks they can push for it the hardest".

Or maybe the UK government just doesn't want to condone racism and xenophobia that's being done by another world leader?

You've got to be trolling, this is Alex Jones tier.

I can't say I've seen a single post from you that isn't some Infowars tier drivel about "the (((globalists))) (!!!)" as of recent.
There's no grand fucking conspiracy here. The world has changed since we entered the information age, borders are becoming less meaningful to individuals because we can communicate with anyone, anywhere at any time now. Stop this NWO lunacy.

your furthest right politicians over there are still left of our center right now
Oh yeah, he's still a moron. He's just not a *complete* moron.
He's not a moron, he's far worse than that, he's just a no good career politician, who puts his status before his country, his "moron" persona is just a facade, he knew what he was doing playing to the Brexit crowds, he very clearly just wanted more power, a way of weakening the previous Prime Minister putting him in a better position, perhaps even one day the Prime Ministers seat, his buffoonery is just his way of hiding it.
It obviously didn't work out that way for him, but what he attempted wasn't really the work of a moron.

If it affects UK citizens, it affects the UK.
Won't happen, May is all cozy with Trump already
your furthest right politicians over there are still left of our center right now
That's true in Ireland too.
... I am certainly not British, let me tell you that. I only know Mister Johnson from his bollocks during Brexit, that will probably screw us a little bit. :v

In my honest opinion, national boundaries shouldn't exist in a utopian future. Not on the basis of corporate globalism, but on the basis of cosmopolitan humanism. Nations are a social construct that fosters pointless pride which again can foster hate and xenophobia.

When that utopia arrives, great. Until then, we have problems.
It would be nice to think that mankind were ready to live in a world without borders but we're not. The minute borders disappear, you'll have one super despot rather than a few, scattered around the world, contained within their own country.
Also, hexpunK, where did you see me enclose anything in triple parenthesis? It would seem that you did that yourself.

i fully support a more globalized world. i don't think that means supporting a single world leader

most borders are invisible. the minute borders disappear....
realistically a massive concrete dome would be the MOST EFFICIENT WAY TO SECURE A CONTINENT.
