I recently bought a Kalashnikova type AEG from Airsoft GI. I haven't used it much, just enough to get it sighted in.
Recently, the selector switch has been acting up. It is very loose, and it will not switch firing modes. As far as I can tell, the internals have gotten out of alignment.
Do you guys have any advice on taking it apart?
Here's a link to the gun: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_134&products_id=1484
If you're new to airsoft guns, know that they're fairly complicated on the inside and you could risk fucking shit up bigtime.
If there's a nearby field, I'd recommend taking it there and asking around for an expert.

+1 Informative
The screw holding the selector down probably came loose, allowing it to swing without actually moving the selector on the side of the gearbox.
Just follow this video and pay attention to the selector. You should be able to figure it out.

Nope.avi
The screw is loose. Pop the little cap on top of the selector off and tighten the screw you see under it.
Depends on how serious it is. This happened to one of my AK's and my gundoc had to buy a whole new selector switch and something happened internally. I don't know all the details TBH.

I'll try this.
