So, I recently bought a Shuttle PC for my TV for media and such.
Long story short, I ended up getting a better one shipped out as the CPU I had ordered was out of stock.
Specs:
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 805 (2.5GHz) Processor
CPU Cooling: Shuttle Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE)
Memory: OCZ 4GB DDR2-800MHz (PC2 6400) Memory
Video: Onboard NVIDIA GeForce 8200
Audio: Onboard Realtek 7.1HD Audio W/SPDIF Out
Network: Onboard Gigabit Lan (10/100/1000 Mbit)
Hard Drive: Hitachi or Major Brand 500GB SATA 16MB Cache HD
Card Reader: All In One USB2.0 Internal Card Reader
Optical Drive: SAMSUNG 22X SATA DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Burner
Power Supply: 300W Power Supply
Case: Shuttle XPC SN78SH7
Now, the big feature they endorse is the PureVideo or the ability to play HD videos.
Now, I went to play a 1080p video on the machine, and it refused to render it via VLC. I tried Media Player Classic with K-Lite Codec, and it worked, however it was quite choppy. I've noticed that I can play 720p videos fine. Now, I don't understand why they would advertise HD video and not add a notice of 1080p not being able to be played. As a side note, I am also using HDMI for my display, if that helps.
So, any ideas on why 1080 refuses to play?
