slaving a hd then using it normally? can i do that?

im going to slave a HD from my laptop to another pc, and im pretty sure i'll have to take ownership of files on it since my desktop on it was PW protected, what im wondering is, after i take ownership on it on another pc, can i still put it back into the old laptop and it will work normally?

im going to have to put it back in to get the laptop repaired, im slaving it so i can get files copied cause i think the HD might be formatted after the repairs are done, i dont know for sure just would rather be safe then sorry, anyone got the answer im looking for?

this might sound like a dumb question but i seriously dont know and cant find an answer :/

As long as you set the owner to everyone you should be fine.
