Britain First has claimed its Facebook fan page has been “unpublished” by the company, prompting the group to label the social network “fascist” while vowing to take it to court.
In a statement published on Britain First’s website, the far-right group said the supposed move by Facebook “means that our 1.1 million supporters have been denied freedom of speech and expression,” and said it has launched “an immediate legal fund to drag Facebook into court”.
Oh the irony...

I thought Britain first were supposed to be a neo-fascist movement.
Not surprising at all, unfortunately. If it's taken down without a proper reason, clearly it is moving into opinion control and censorship; And is quite fascist indeed.

I'm all for free speech but they used misinformation and outright lies to spread their toxic ideology. I would draw the line at purposefully misleading people.
It's more like a comedy fb page than anything else.

The facebook unpublishing system is automated, normally when enough posts are reported and taken down within a certain, the page is unpublished.
I always found it funny that some of my own fb friends liked that page, being Irish and all.
I never saw Britain First posts anyway because every time I did I'd immediately delete the person that shared it from my friends list haha
Britain Furst is a much better page imho.

I honestly was hoping you'd find this thread. Wanted to see what our current resident white supremacist thought on this topic.
Fucking finally lmao. Even other racist shithole "briteen for britun" pages were starting to hate these guys when they were fucking around with remembrance poppy sales.

They take advantage of popular causes such as ending dog fighting or supporting war veterans by making posts that say something to the effect of "SHARE AND LIKE THIS PAGE IF YOU AGREE X IS WRONG", sometimes with donation links that fund THEM and overall just doing shady shit to further their own agenda. Then there's fearmongering and spreading propaganda spewing hate towards Islam and immigrants in general:

Not to mention screaming at and/or banning people who post differing opinions to theirs, regardless of how well constructed their arguments may be.
There's also this gem:

It's back now anyway

they also keep putting up that dead solider's photo who was beheaded for their propaganda AFTER they were told by the family to stop

Sadly there are very few ideologies spread these days without misinformation and lies, even if we're just limiting it to lies spread by the core of the group.
Facebook is not a government. Websites are in their right to remove any content they want.
Hell, this forum right here essentially operates like a totalitarian dictatorship.

I wouldn't go as far to say that banning people for shitposting is the same as a totalitarian dictatorship, banning someone for being a nazi and literally out-and-out advocating for eugenics programs isn't quite the same as thought policing (i.e. you can believe what you want and talk about it, but you can't actively threaten people and shitpost). The page was banned because it got reported too many times, not because of what the practitioners believe (otherwise they'd be deleting the posts and the accounts of the people complaining about the page being removed).
The fact of the matter is you can get any page and any account banned from social media by reporting it enough times because the entire process is automated, it doesn't matter whether the page or user is moral or not, it only matters that enough people report it.
